- In order for prestigious people to perform their duties well, one of the important policies that has been and is being seriously and effectively implemented by all levels and sectors in the province is to distribute newspapers and magazines, including printed publications of Lang Son Newspaper and Radio and Television Station to this group. The newspaper is like a "handbook" to help them update accurate and timely information to propagate and disseminate to the people.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong, 68 years old, a prestigious person in block 10, Cao Loc town, Cao Loc district, said: Every week, from Monday to Friday, the printed newspapers of Lang Son Radio and Television are delivered to my house by postmen during the day. I find the layout of the newspaper increasingly innovative, creative, rich in content, interesting and attractive headlines, attracting readers. For example, in the issue dated May 29, 2025, there is an article "Canh canh noi lo duong" stating the current situation, warnings about drowning for children during the summer vacation and specific measures and recommendations for parents in managing their children, preventing tragic drowning accidents. Or new policies, typical examples in production, business, social activities, and the will to rise up in life... published in the newspaper are the most vivid and practical examples that help my propaganda and mobilization of people to be more effective.
According to research, the province currently has over 1,600 prestigious people in villages and residential areas. Of these, 349 are retired officials, 26 are village elders and clan leaders; 200 are party cell secretaries, village and residential area chiefs; 13 are heads of the Front work committee...
Mr. Lang Van Hien, Head of Policy Department, Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions of the province, said: In recent years, all levels, sectors and functional units in the province have paid attention to implementing policies for prestigious people so that they can promote their roles and responsibilities in residential areas, including distributing the Ethnic Minorities and Development Magazine (the mouthpiece of the Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions ) and printed newspapers of Lang Son Newspaper and Radio and Television Station. In the past 3 months, the whole province has distributed over 80,000 printed newspapers of Lang Son Newspaper and Radio and Television Station; more than 8,000 copies of Ethnic Minorities and Development Magazine to prestigious people.
“For magazines, each month, the post offices deliver one issue, while the printed newspapers of Lang Son Newspaper and Radio and Television Station are delivered daily to each prestigious person, depending on traffic and weather conditions in each area,” informed Mr. Trieu Van Sy, Head of Organization and Administration Department, Provincial Post Office.
With the majority of elderly people, rarely updating information on electronic newspapers, social networks, magazines, printed newspapers in general, printed newspapers of Lang Son Radio and Television in particular have helped prestigious people in the area to promptly update information, current issues in the province, as well as domestic and international information; policies, new models, good practices, considering this as a handbook to do a good job of propaganda, mobilizing people, participating in solving problems arising at the grassroots level.
For example, from the beginning of 2025 until now, prestigious people in the whole province have mobilized people in residential areas to contribute tens of thousands of working days to support the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in the area; mobilized the donation of over 3,000m2 of land to build new rural areas; participated in the successful mediation of nearly 100 conflicts in the community; provided about 200 valuable sources of information on security and order to the authorities... Thereby contributing to building the homeland to become increasingly rich, beautiful and civilized.
