To pay tribute to the great sacrifices of generations of fathers and brothers, and at the same time review the heroic tradition of the Dong Bang Brigade - Division 320, the main unit that participated in many major campaigns during the resistance war, including the Tay Nguyen campaign and the historic Ho Chi Minh campaign; The Traditional Liaison Committee of the Dong Bang Brigade - Division 320 Nghe An - Ha Tinh organized a traditional meeting to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).
The meeting is an opportunity for veterans to review the glorious traditions of the nation, commemorate their heroic comrades, and strengthen their comradeship, promoting the spirit of solidarity and loyalty in today's life.
On this occasion, delegates and veterans performed a memorial ceremony for heroic martyrs and fallen comrades; watched the documentary “Journey of Gratitude”; the Liaison Committee presented gifts to relatives and families of martyrs who participated in the Central Highlands campaign and the Ho Chi Minh campaign.

In particular, at the meeting, the veterans reviewed the battle of Dong Du - Cu Chi opening gate. Accordingly, at 5:30 a.m. on April 29, the 320th Division was ordered to open fire to attack Dong Du base. The Division's artillery simultaneously fired at Dong Du base, lasting for 2 hours. Amidst the roar of mortars, tanks and anti-aircraft guns moved into the assault line, infantry in all directions detonated directional mines and explosives continuously opened up many layers of fences.
After 30 minutes of shelling, the enemy discovered our open doors and reacted strongly, immediately mobilizing infantry and tanks to block the open doors, and at the same time using aircraft, mortars, and even chemical ammunition to attack the 320th Division's attack formation. On the main attack directions, the 320th Division's units concentrated their forces and firepower, fought bravely, determined to win the final victory.
By 11:00 a.m. on April 29, 1975, the 320th Division had completely taken control of the Dong Du base. The flag of determination to fight and win fluttered at the command center of the 25th Division of the Republic of Vietnam, signaling a complete victory in the battle, contributing to opening the gateway to Saigon and paving the way for the victory of the Ho Chi Minh campaign at noon on April 30, 1975.
The traditional meeting of the Traditional Liaison Committee of the Dong Bang Brigade – Division 320 Nghe An – Ha Tinh took place in a warm, affectionate atmosphere, imbued with the spirit of comradeship and comradeship. The sharing, memories, documentary films and moments of remembrance evoked deep pride in a time of war and the steadfast soldiers of the Dong Bang Brigade – heroic Division 320.
