Previously, on May 31, the interdisciplinary inspection team of Soc Trang province and the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine of Region VII went to CP Fresh Shop (on Le Hong Phong Street, Soc Trang City) to collect a sample of pork for testing. The pork sample taken was ground pork.
Accordingly, the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine of Region VII issued Notice No. 0706/TB-TYV7-TH, providing information on the test results. The results showed that “no virus causing African swine fever, classical swine fever, or North American porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome was detected”.
Regarding the case of CP Fresh Shop smuggling diseased pork and chicken into the market, Ms. Quach Thi Thanh Binh, Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Soc Trang province, said: As soon as receiving the feedback, the province's interdisciplinary inspection team worked day and night, including holidays, to complete the inspection of 4 CP Fresh Shop stores (of CP Vietnam Livestock Joint Stock Company) in the area.
Ms. Quach Thi Thanh Binh added that on the afternoon of June 2, the provincial interdisciplinary inspection team will work with the legal representative of CP Vietnam Livestock Joint Stock Company to compare and verify some related contents that have been inspected. After working, the unit will synthesize, report to the Provincial People's Committee and officially inform the inspection results of 4 CP Fresh Shop stores.
