Just two days after the meeting between the Vietnamese Minister of Agriculture and Environment and the Director General of China's Customs, the first shipment of frozen durian from Vietnam officially cleared customs to the billion-people market.
On May 30, 22 tons of frozen durian produced by Vina M&B Export and Trading Company Limited ( Hanoi ) were cleared through Bac Luan II bridge border gate (Mong Cai - Dong Hung). The import partner is Shanghai Xinronghe International Trade Company headquartered in Shanghai.
This batch of goods was produced according to strict procedures, fully meeting the requirements of traceability, freezing, packaging and testing in accordance with the Protocol signed by the two countries in August 2024. This is a step demonstrating the professionalism and determination to expand the market of the Vietnamese agricultural sector.
Exporting frozen durian is considered a breakthrough solution in the context of difficulties in exporting fresh durian due to high requirements on quality and transportation time. Thanks to its ability to preserve for a long time and stabilize its quality, frozen durian helps Vietnam to bring this fruit deeper into the domestic market of China - where there is a great demand for this specialty fruit.
