The Provincial Association for the Support of People with Disabilities and Orphans (PWD-TMC) coordinated with benefactors to organize a program to visit and give gifts to students of Don Dac Primary and Secondary School (Ba Che district) in May 2025. The school is located about 15km from the commune center, with 100% of the students being Dao ethnic people, and the learning and living conditions are still lacking.
The program was attended by the Nhan Tam Ha Long Volunteer Club and teachers from the school. The students enjoyed joyful performances, received candy, new uniforms and many other practical gifts.
In particular, meaningful gifts were given to children in difficult circumstances, including orphans and disabled students. Chiu Thai Son (8 years old), a second grader with a congenital disability, living in Tau Tien village (Don Dac commune), received the loving gift with an innocent, bright smile. Son was given new clothes, cakes and candies on the occasion of Children's Day and happily shared: "I like it very much".
Ms. Le Thi Nguyen, Head of the Nhan Tam Ha Long Volunteer Club, said: “We not only bring new uniforms to all students, but also special gifts for orphans and disabled children. We also give gifts to encourage teachers working at the school, hoping to give more strength to those who are spreading knowledge day and night in the highlands.”
At the end of May 2025, the Vietnam Association for the Relief of Disabled Children in collaboration with the Association for the Protection of the Disabled and the Vietnam Fund for Disabled Children organized the program "Helping Orphans and Disabled Children Go to School". The program honored 147 students with special circumstances who have made efforts to overcome difficulties and achieved high results in the 2024-2025 school year.
One of the typical faces is Nguyen Phuong Anh (14 years old), in Zone 4, Tran Hung Dao Ward (Ha Long City). Suffering from a metabolic disorder that causes her body to develop slowly compared to her peers, Phuong Anh did not surrender to adversity but always tried hard in her studies, being an advanced student for many years. She shared: "Coming to the program, I saw that there are many friends like me. I will try to study better to become a useful person for society."
At the event, the Vietnam Fund for Disabled Children and philanthropists donated hundreds of millions of VND to motivate the children to overcome their circumstances. Mr. Ngo Sach Thuc, Chairman of the Vietnam Association for the Relief of Disabled Children, emphasized: “The children are examples of determination and aspiration to rise up. Teachers, parents and philanthropists are the “angels”, supporting the wings of their dreams every day with all their hearts and kindness.”
Currently, Quang Ninh province has more than 4,000 children in special circumstances and more than 4,500 children at risk of falling into special circumstances. Many of them also face difficulties in housing, health care, education and community integration...
