The Committee for Culture and Society, Provincial People's Council works with the Department of Education and Training

Since the beginning of 2025, the Department of Education and Training has actively advised the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, and Provincial People's Committee to issue many important policies, especially on building schools for border communes in Quang Tri province. The Department also regularly supports and guides communes, wards, and special zones to overcome difficulties and obstacles in the process of operating the 2-level local government model related to the field of education and training. It is expected that by the end of 2025, Quang Tri will have 595 public kindergartens and general schools that meet national standards, reaching a rate of 66.9%.

QTO - On the morning of November 26, the Committee for Culture and Society (VH-XH), the Provincial People's Council worked with the Department of Education and Training (DET) to grasp the recent activities and review some contents submitted to the 5th session of the 8th Provincial People's Council. In the 2024-2025 school year, Quang Tri province has 115 students winning prizes at the national excellent student competition, including 2 first prizes, 16 second prizes, 34 third prizes and 63 encouragement prizes, the highest ever; the high school graduation rate in 2025 reached 98.9%, ranking 13th out of 34 provinces and cities.

Currently, the Quang Tri education and training sector is facing many difficulties such as: the system of public housing for teachers in mountainous areas is degraded; the shortage of educational staff affects the quality of teaching...

At the working session, delegates gave their opinions on a number of contents presented at the 5th session of the 8th Provincial People's Council, such as: Tuition fees for public educational institutions that have not yet covered their regular expenses and regional classification for tuition fee application; expenditure levels for implementing the Project "Building a learning society in the 2021-2030 period in Quang Tri province"...

Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Tran Huy acknowledged and highly appreciated the results achieved by the Department of Education and Training in the past time; at the same time, he requested the Department to fully absorb the opinions of the delegates at the meeting to supplement a number of key tasks in the coming time.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council also noted that the Committee for Culture and Social Affairs and relevant units continue to review and carefully examine the contents of the drafts to submit to the Provincial People's Council for consideration and approval at the 5th session.
