Selling illegal gasoline, a business in Bac Giang was fined 160 million VND

On May 12, information from the People's Committee of Bac Giang province said that the Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Giang province signed a decision to impose an administrative penalty in the field of petroleum trading against Hiep Hoa Trading - Service Joint Stock Company (address at Residential Group No. 2, Hoang Van Thai Street, Thang Town, Hiep Hoa District, Bac Giang Province) with the amount of 160 million VND.

This enterprise was fined for selling "illegal" gasoline to agents in the distribution system, while not having a certificate of eligibility to act as a gasoline distributor.

Previously, on January 17, the Ministry of Industry and Trade decided to revoke the certificate of eligibility to act as a petroleum distributor of Hiep Hoa Trading and Service Joint Stock Company. However, the authorities discovered that this enterprise did not comply with the decision of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, but continued to distribute petroleum to agents in the system.

For the above violation, the enterprise was fined 160 million VND by the Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Giang province; forced to pay back more than 11 million VND due to illegal profits from selling gasoline without a certificate of eligibility to be a gasoline distributor.

Previously, in 2021, Hiep Hoa Trading and Service Joint Stock Company was fined 63 million VND (including illegal profits) by the Chairman of Bac Giang Provincial People's Committee for selling 3,700 liters of diesel to stores outside the distribution system.

According to the Department of Industry and Trade of Bac Giang, this locality currently has 3 enterprises as wholesale traders, 10 enterprises as distribution traders and 340 petrol stations distributed widely in districts and cities; meeting the production and business requirements of enterprises and the consumption and travel needs of people.

To strengthen management of petroleum business activities throughout the province, this year, the Market Management Department of Bac Giang province will coordinate with functional agencies and local authorities to strengthen inspection and examination of licensing and granting of certificates of eligibility for production and trading of petroleum products, liquefied petroleum gas, etc.
