With the final result of 2-0 from goals by Huynh Nhu and Thanh Nha, the Vietnamese women's football team successfully defended their championship. This is also the 8th gold medal of Vietnamese women's football in the history of the SEA Games. At the same time, Huynh Nhu and her teammates became the first team to win 4 consecutive regional sports festivals.
On the competition day of May 15, martial arts continuously brought a "shower" of victories to the Vietnamese delegation. The Vietnamese wrestling team had a successful competition day when they won all 6/6 weight classes in the women's freestyle wrestling competition. The victories came from Nguyen Thi Xuan (50kg), Nguyen Thi My Trang (57kg), Tran Anh Tuyet (59kg), Nguyen Thi My Hanh (62kg), Dang Thi Linh (76kg), and Lai Dieu Thuong (68kg).
Vietnamese judo athletes showed their superiority when they won 4 gold medals on the competition day of May 15. Specifically, Nguyen Nhac Nhu An won the women's 44kg category, while Hoang Thi Tinh also won the women's 48kg category. Next, Le Anh Tai won the gold medal in the men's under 90kg category and Nguyen Thi Thanh Thuy won the women's 52kg category.
