Ho Chi Minh City recruits more than 2,300 public grade 10 students

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training announced the plan and additional enrollment targets for grade 10, school year 2025-2026 for 37 public high schools in the area of Region 1 with 2,340 students.

Regarding admission conditions, students who have taken the exam in Region 1 of Ho Chi Minh City, have not passed any of their wishes to public high schools and must have exam scores in 3 subjects: Math, Literature, Foreign Language and priority and incentive points (if any) greater than or equal to the standard score of grade 10 of the first wish of the public high school they want to apply for admission.

Each student can only register for additional enrollment at a public high school that has not yet met its assigned enrollment quota and cannot change schools after submitting the additional enrollment registration application.

Additional enrollment quota for grade 10 in 37 high schools, specifically as follows:

Students wishing to enroll in additional courses must submit their application directly to the high school, including the 10th grade entrance exam score report issued by the middle school where the student registered to take the exam.

High schools will use the exam management software provided by the Department of Education and Training to consider candidates who are eligible for additional admission. In case the number of admitted candidates exceeds the remaining quota due to many candidates having the same score, the school's admission council will adjust the number of admitted candidates in the spirit that the number of admitted candidates does not exceed the assigned quota.

In addition, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City also announced additional recruitment for Japanese language classes and English integrated programs.

For the Japanese class, the candidates are students who have taken the entrance exam for grade 10 in the 2025-2026 school year in Region 1, Ho Chi Minh City and have studied Japanese (first foreign language) at the secondary school level. Students register for the Japanese language exam, achieve a score of 5 points or higher on the exam and have not been admitted to high schools with Japanese language programs.

Secondary schools that teach Japanese are responsible for reviewing and making a list of candidates who are eligible and meet the conditions for additional admission, and sending it to the Quality Management Department, Department of Education and Training before 5:00 p.m. on August 4. The Department of Education and Training, based on the list of eligible candidates, will conduct admission based on the Japanese test scores in order of priority from highest to lowest until the remaining quota for the Japanese class at Marie Curie High School is met.

For the integrated English program , the candidates are students who have taken the entrance exam for grade 10 in area 1 of Ho Chi Minh City. Students who have passed other types of admission to high schools that teach the integrated English program and wish to transfer to this program.

Based on the number of students who have passed the entrance exam and want to change their application type, high school principals organize a survey to change their application type, in order to fill the assigned quota for integrated English classes.

Additional recruitment timeline for grade 10

From July 30 to 5:00 p.m. August 4: High schools will receive applications for additional enrollment.

From August 5 to August 6: High schools conduct enrollment on exam management software.

August 7: High schools report enrollment results to the Department of Education and Training.

August 8: Announcement of additional list of successful candidates.

From August 8 to 4:00 p.m. August 11: High schools organize to receive additional admitted candidates.

August 13: Schools send additional lists of admitted students to the quality management department.

Note: Students who exceed the enrollment quota will not be accepted. Cases exceeding the enrollment quota will not be resolved; additional successful candidates will not be accepted after 4:00 p.m. on August 11.

Candidates participating in the admission must have their names on the examination management system of the Department of Education and Training. The Admissions Council is responsible for additional admission conditions and ensuring valid records.
