According to the report at the Meeting, up to now, 19 projects, road component projects and one airport project under the Steering Committee have been completed and put into operation. Thereby, the whole country now has 2,476km of expressways. The Ministry of Construction and localities are making efforts to implement the construction of 733km of expressways with 22 projects, component projects. Of which, 16 component projects with a total length of 575km are closely following the completion plan in 2025. Particularly, 6 projects with a length of 158km are still behind schedule.
Regarding key tasks, the Prime Minister requested to complete the goal of putting into operation at least 3,000km of expressways and about 1,700km of coastal roads (according to Resolution 50/NQ-CP dated May 20, 2021). To achieve this goal, it is necessary to organize construction in the spirit of "overcoming the sun and rain, not losing to storms and winds", "working during the day is not enough, taking advantage of working at night"; "working during the day, working at night, working on extra days off"... Provinces and cities continue to pay attention, Secretaries and Chairmen of localities do not leave investors, contractors, engineers and workers "lonely" on the construction site.
Regarding the Long Thanh airport project, the report at the meeting said that component project 1 (headquarters of management agencies) and component project 2 (works serving flight management) are being implemented in line with the completion plan in December 2025. Component project 3 (essential works), the total value of the volume reached 56.5% of the contract value. Passenger terminal package 5.10 reached a volume value of about 61.5%. However, package 4.8 (internal port traffic and technical infrastructure) is behind schedule due to heavy rain.
Concluding the Long Thanh International Airport project phase 1, the Prime Minister emphasized the role and special importance of the project. With only about 2 months left in 2025, the remaining volume is very large, the Ministries, branches, and competent agencies, especially the Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV), need to urgently have appropriate solutions to increase the construction volume at the site (striving to reach over 20% per month), strictly control quality, labor safety, organize construction reasonably and scientifically , especially component project 3 and component project 4; report weekly to Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha.
The Prime Minister assigned Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha to directly inspect and urge agencies to promptly resolve problems to speed up the project's progress next week. The expressways connecting to Long Thanh airport must be completed before December 19, 2025. The traffic system connecting to Long Thanh International Airport - Phase 1 must be quickly completed to synchronously and effectively exploit the project.
