On June 13, the People's Committee of Dien Bien province held a ceremony to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2025), the Dien Bien Provincial Press Award Ceremony in 2024 and a photo exhibition on the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day.
According to the Organizing Committee's assessment, after its launch, the 2024 Provincial Press Award with the theme "Echoes forever" received the participation of many reporters and editors from press agencies in the province, central press agencies and other provinces.
The participating works closely followed the major themes of politics , economics, culture, society, national defense, security, foreign affairs, vividly reflecting the important events of the country, especially the topics of Dien Bien Phu Victory. The works also clearly demonstrated the discovery, criticism, timeliness, and propaganda effectiveness; thereby, contributing to orienting public opinion, encouraging and widely spreading patriotic emulation movements throughout the Party, the political system and the people...
The Organizing Committee awarded prizes to authors with the best works in 4 categories: Print, Radio, Television, and Electronic Newspaper. There were 4 First Prizes, 8 Second Prizes, 12 Third Prizes, and 20 Encouragement Prizes.
The work "Dien Bien Phu: An epic with a desire for peace" by the group of authors Do Minh Thu, Nguyen Hoai Nam and Doan Minh Anh, VietnamPlus Electronic Newspaper won the First Prize in the Electronic Newspaper category; the work "Aspiration to make Dien Bien tourism take off" by author Nguyen Trung Kien, Vietnam News Agency Resident Office in Dien Bien province won the Encouragement Prize.
On this occasion, the Provincial People's Committee awarded Certificates of Merit to 7 collectives and 14 individuals with outstanding achievements in management and information and propaganda on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day; including the Vietnam News Agency Resident Office in Dien Bien province.
Reviewing the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day, Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association of Dien Bien province Pham Ngoc Han said: Along with the development of the national press, the provincial press has always been present in every stage of local construction and development. The provincial press has promoted its role as the voice of the Party Committee, government, armed forces, Fatherland Front and mass organizations; as a reliable information channel for the people of all ethnic groups in the province, consolidating trust, orienting public opinion and creating consensus in society.
Press information is increasingly professional, promptly and truthfully reflecting the activities of Party committees and authorities at all levels, the achievements in economic, cultural, social, defense, security and foreign affairs development of the province; spreading the image of Dien Bien constantly innovating and developing to domestic and international friends.
Congratulating journalists on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day, Secretary of Dien Bien Provincial Party Committee Tran Quoc Cuong affirmed that, over a century of formation and development, Vietnam's revolutionary press has always played a pioneering role on the ideological-cultural front; and is a bridge between the Party, the government and the people.
Dien Bien press has constantly grown and matured in terms of staff, innovated in content and form of expression; actively contributed to the cause of building and developing the socio-economy, maintaining national defense and security, and building a strong political system.
In the period of digital technology development, along with the process of deep integration, requiring constant innovation and creativity in both content, form and journalism methods, Mr. Tran Quoc Cuong suggested that the team of journalists in the province continue to maintain political courage and professional ethics; promote digital transformation, improve the quality of journalistic works; promptly and vividly reflect the reality of social life, spread positive values, and contribute to bringing the Party's resolutions into life.
The Secretary of the Dien Bien Provincial Party Committee believes that press agencies will continue to inherit the fine traditions of previous generations, promote the spirit of innovation and creativity, continue to write glorious pages of history of revolutionary journalism, build Dien Bien press to develop more and more; be a pioneer force in the ideological and cultural work of the Party, worthy of the trust of Party committees, authorities, armed forces and people of all ethnic groups in the province./.
