At Loc Thai A Primary School, drowning prevention propaganda sessions have become an important part of the school'seducational program. During the flag-raising ceremonies at the beginning of the week or the weekend class activities, teachers always incorporate knowledge about water safety skills, how to handle dangerous situations, as well as principles to remember when swimming. For children, learning how to protect themselves when encountering an accident in the water is a completely new, useful and practical experience.

During the flag-raising ceremonies at the beginning of the week or the weekend class activities, teachers at Loc Thai A Primary School always take time to incorporate propaganda content about drowning prevention for students.
Not only does the school focus on theory, it also organizes practical swimming lessons at the pool. Here, students from grades 1 to 5 learn basic movements such as leg and arm exercises, breathing, and floating on the water surface. Thach Phuoc Dat, grade 4, said: “The teacher promotes and teaches many swimming techniques to help prevent drowning better. Once I know how to swim, I feel more confident and am not afraid of drowning.”
The lessons not only create a safe playground during the summer, but also help children become more confident when going into the water. Student Luu Nguyen Dang Vy, class 5A1 shared: “I feel safe because I have prepared myself with swimming skills and ways to prevent drowning.”
From theory to the pool, many students are equipped with swimming knowledge and skills.
Not only students, but also parents highly appreciate the effectiveness of this program. Ms. Tran Thi Kieu, residing in Binh 2 Hamlet, Loc Thanh Commune, expressed her joy when her daughter learned to swim after the course. Ms. Kieu said: “At first, my child was very shy, but after learning how to swim, she felt comfortable, confident and loved swimming. Since then, I have been less worried every time my child goes out.”
According to statistics from the education sector of Loc Ninh district, the model of integrating drowning prevention education into regular lessons, class activities, local education lessons and flag-raising ceremonies at the beginning of the week has been and is showing positive results. The learning and practice atmosphere is always maintained lively, suitable for the psychology of primary school students.
Mr. Hoang Thien Vu, physical education teacher at Loc Thai A Primary School, emphasized: "If children are equipped with swimming skills, floating skills, and treading water skills skillfully, then if they accidentally fall into a pond, lake, river, or stream, they can completely protect themselves."

It is the school's initiative, the teachers' cooperation and the parents' support that have created a ripple effect in the community. Life skills education is no longer a slogan but has become a concrete, practical action that brings long-term benefits to students.
In the journey of educating the next generation, perhaps there is no more valuable asset than equipping children with safe living skills. Today’s efforts, though quiet, are lighting up the hope of a summer without tears, instead a summer of laughter, maturity and safety for children in the countryside.
