Quang Nam : Record rain in summer
On June 13, the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue of Quang Nam province issued a quick report on the flood situation caused by storm No. 1.

These are record numbers recorded in the summer in localities in Quang Nam province. Many elderly people said they had never witnessed such heavy rain in the middle of summer.
More than 15,000 hectares of rice in Quang Nam province were severely flooded.
It is forecasted that today (June 13), localities in Quang Nam province will have rain, moderate rain, and heavy rain in some places. Total rainfall is generally from 30 - 70 mm, in some places over 80 mm, from the evening the rain will gradually decrease and end the heavy rain period.
Currently, the flood in the upper Vu Gia - Thu Bon river is slowly receding, the lower is rising; on the Tam Ky river, it changes slowly according to the tide.
More than 700 houses in Dai Hung commune, Dai Loc district were flooded due to heavy rain.
Through a quick summary of the situation from localities, the total area of crops flooded and affected by heavy rain is about 16,742 hectares. Of which, the area of rice flooded by rain is about 15,892 hectares; crops (corn, vegetables, beans of all kinds...) flooded and felled by rain is about 849 hectares.

Over 725 houses in Dai Hung, Dai Lanh, Dai Son, Dai Hong communes (Dai Loc district) were flooded under 1 meter; 1 buffalo and 1 cow died in Yeu village, Dai Hung commune; 1 duck farm in Dai Son commune was swept away; 49 hectares of shrimp farms in Duy Xuyen district were affected.
In Hoi An city, floods affected 6 hectares of ornamental plants and sank 1 boat.
Many roads were deeply flooded, Phu Loc pontoon bridge in Dai An commune across villages 9 and 10 (old) of Dai Cuong commune (Dai Loc district) serving people's travel and production was swept away.
Quang Tri : Thousands of people evacuated
On the morning of June 13, the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue of Quang Tri province said that in the past 24 hours, due to the impact of storm No. 1, heavy rain occurred in this province, with average rainfall ranging from 155 - 485 mm.
Many inter-village, inter-commune and national highways in Hai Lang district were deeply flooded and impassable. Meanwhile, many culverts in Huong Hoa and Dakrong districts were still cut off by floodwaters; the embankment of Ho Chi Minh road at Km 194 through Huong Viet commune (Huong Hoa district) was eroded, causing traffic disruption.
Lao Bao town police support evacuation of people and property to safety
By the morning of June 13, more than 2,100 houses were flooded at a depth of over 1 meter, concentrated in Hai Lang, Huong Hoa, Dakrong districts and Quang Tri town. Authorities evacuated about 420 households with nearly 1,300 people to safety.
In Lao Bao town (Huong Hoa district), at 2:00 a.m. the same day, Se Pon river water flooded residential areas, causing flooding in Duy Tan hamlet, Cao Viet hamlet, and Vinh Dong hamlet.

During the night, local authorities coordinated with military forces, Lao Bao town police, and Lao Bao International Border Gate Border Guard Station to evacuate people.
"Up to now, 143 households/465 people have been evacuated to a safe place. The water level of the Se Pon River continues to rise," informed Mr. Le Ba Hung, Chairman of the People's Committee of Lao Bao town.
According to statistics, heavy rains caused by storm No. 1 caused 18,300 hectares of rice in Quang Tri province to be flooded, many dykes were damaged, and irrigation dams were broken...
