The wind when it makes landfall in Ha Tinh is level 10, gusting to level 12, 13. The storm is currently still in Nghe An . It is likely to rage until 12 o'clock tonight. There is a very high risk of flash floods and major flooding," Deputy Minister Nguyen Hoang Hiep emphasized.
Today (August 25), Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh signed Official Dispatch No. 146/CD-TTg directing the continued drastic implementation of response work to storm No. 5.
The Prime Minister requested Ministers, Heads of ministerial-level agencies, Government agencies; Secretaries and Chairmen of People's Committees of Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Tri, Hung Yen, Ninh Binh provinces and localities with forecasted risks of prolonged heavy rain after the storm, according to their functions, tasks and authority, to continue to focus on leading, directing and drastically implementing emergency response measures to storm No. 5 and floods with the spirit of proactive response at the highest level.

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, due to the impact of storm No. 5, from the evening of August 25 to the end of August 26, in the midlands and deltas of the North, Lao Cai, Son La and from Thanh Hoa to Quang Tri, there will be widespread heavy rain with common rainfall of 70-150mm, locally over 250mm. Particularly, the area from Thanh Hoa to Northern Quang Tri will have heavy to very heavy rain with common rainfall of 150-350mm, locally over 500mm.
