The epic clash at the Giuseppe Meazza ended with a 7-6 aggregate win for Inter Milan over two legs. This result not only sent the "Nerazzurri" into the final, but also helped them equal the record for the total number of goals scored in a single knockout match in the Champions League.
With 13 goals scored, the recent confrontation equaled the record of Liverpool vs AS Roma in the semi-finals of the Champions League season 2017/18. In that encounter, Liverpool also won 7-6 on aggregate.
Since leading Inter Milan from the 2021/22 season, coach Simone Inzaghi is the strategist with the most Champions League finals in Europe (2 times in 4 seasons, equal to Real Madrid's Carlo Ancelotti).

Another notable highlight was Raphinha equaling Cristiano Ronaldo's record of contributing to goals in a Champions League season. Both had a hand in 21 goals (13 goals, 8 assists).
Inter defender Denzel Dumfries also became the third player to have a hand in at least five goals in a pair of Champions League semi-final matches (2 goals, 3 assists). The previous two to do so were Alessandro Del Piero in 1997/98 (6 goals) and Roberto Firmino in 2017/18 (5 goals).
"I felt exhausted watching this game," former player Alan Shearer commented on Prime Video . "I wonder how the players on the pitch felt."
The English football legend admitted that Inter and Barcelona had delivered an emotional and dramatic match. Many European newspapers also agreed with this view.
