Loan shark arrested for using knife to attack police when house was searched

On March 2, news from the Krong Pak District Police ( Dak Lak ), the unit has just prosecuted and temporarily detained Vo Tan Tung (48 years old, residing in Phuoc An Town, Krong Pak District) to investigate and handle the acts of usury in civil transactions and intentional injury.

According to the initial investigation, from the beginning of 2020 to January 2024, Vo Tan Tung lent more than 9.8 billion VND to 71 people in Krong Pak district at high interest rates, illegally profiting more than 920 million VND.

On January 29, when the working group of Krong Pak District Police urgently searched Vo Tan Tung's residence, he suddenly used a knife to attack the task force. The working group quickly controlled and arrested Tung.

During the search at Vo Tan Tung's house, the authorities seized a lot of cash and documents related to loan sharking activities.

At the investigation agency, Vo Tan Tung confessed to his crime; at the same time, he said that because he could not control himself, he used a knife to attack the police force performing their duties.
