Accordingly, on May 29, the Working Group of Lao Cai International Border Gate Border Guard Station coordinated with the Drug and Crime Prevention and Control Department, Lao Cai Provincial Border Guard Command, and Lao Cai International Border Gate Customs to perform tasks at the border gate area and discovered Bach Dung, a Han ethnic person residing in Dien An city, Shaanxi province (China); completing entry procedures into Vietnam (with a passport) with many suspicious signs.

Kien Giang : Arresting a group of foreigners using counterfeit USD
After entering Vietnam, Bach Dung took 2,000 counterfeit yuan and exchanged it for 7 million VND and continued to the next counter to exchange 3,000 yuan for more than 10.8 million VND. Immediately after that, local people and border guards discovered that the money Bach Dung had just exchanged was counterfeit. The subject and the evidence were taken to the Border Guard Station for further investigation.
At the Border Guard Station, Bach Dung confessed that he came to Vietnam for tourism , bringing with him 18,700 yuan in 100 yuan bills, including 185 counterfeit bills and 2 real bills.
Based on the initial investigation results, the Chief of Lao Cai International Border Guard Station has issued a Decision to initiate criminal proceedings against the case of storing, transporting, and circulating counterfeit money, for investigation under authority.
