Arrested business director embezzled 1.7 billion VND in Ha Tinh

On January 15, the Economic Police Department, Ha Tinh Provincial Police, announced that the investigation agency had just issued a decision to prosecute and temporarily detain Truong Ba Thien (born in 1976, residential group 6, Tran Phu ward, Ha Tinh city, Ha Tinh province), for the crime of embezzlement of property.

Thien Nguyen is the Director of Central Salt and Agricultural Products Processing Joint Stock Company, a company with 52% state capital.

According to the police, during his time as director of the above company, Truong Ba Thien took advantage of his position, signed fake economic contracts to withdraw money from the company. The total amount of money Thien embezzled was up to 1.7 billion VND. This money was used for his personal purposes.

Authorities are completing the documents to handle the case according to regulations.

Previously, on January 13, the Investigation Police Agency of Ha Giang Province Police also issued a decision to prosecute the case, prosecute the accused, and execute an order to temporarily detain two former Chairmen of the Board of Directors of a company for embezzlement of property.

The two defendants include Nguyen Huu Kha (born in 1988, residing in Huu Hoa commune, Thanh Tri district, Hanoi) and Dinh Van Tao (born in 1980, residing in La Khe ward, Ha Dong district, Hanoi), former Chairman of the Board of Directors of Top One Distribution Joint Stock Company (located at Group 1, Nong Truong Viet Lam town, Vi Xuyen district, Ha Giang province).

During the process of managing the production and business activities of the enterprise, these two individuals took advantage of their positions and powers to legalize records and documents, inflate the asset value of the projects to appropriate assets of Top One Distribution Joint Stock Company for a large sum of money.
