The movie 'Life is still beautiful' has a villain but is very interesting

As soon as he appeared in the movie Life is Still Beautiful , the character Bat - Luyen's younger brother - made the audience both afraid and hate him. Bat was called "the damned guy", "the little leopard" by the characters and was one of the most impressive supporting characters in the movie.

In particular, Bat's angular face with dull eyes, yellow teeth and disheveled appearance are the highlights that make netizens constantly talk about him. Sharing with VTC News , actor Tuan Anh said that he had mentally prepared for the audience's reactions to the role of Bat right from when he read the script.

- What chance brought Tuan Anh to the character Bat in the movie "Is Life Still Beautiful?"

I have worked with VFC on a few film projects before. Directors often assign me two types of roles: either a comedian who makes jokes to make the film laugh or a villain.

Perhaps because I can play both types of roles, the director felt I was suitable for the character Bat in the movie Life is Still Beautiful : A hateful destroyer but still brings laughter.

- It seems that your previous characters did not receive as much attention from the audience as the role of Bat? Taking on a "destructive" role like Bat, are you worried about receiving harsh reactions from the audience?

I think I have to thank the audience for their interest in the film, especially the character Bat. From the moment I received the script, I myself found this to be an interesting villain.

Bat is the name of a "little leopard" who always appears and teases others when they are in the most difficult and miserable situations. Therefore, it is not difficult for me to imagine how the audience will react to Bat and I have also mentally prepared for those reactions since reading the script.

- A "cool" hairstyle, a disheveled appearance like a "street kid", is this the look you chose for your character?

When making a film, the crew always pays attention to all the details that will appear on the frame. Therefore, the appearance of the character Bat was carefully calculated by the crew from costumes and makeup to portray it as realistically and as close as possible to the director and screenwriter's intentions. If I have anything to contribute, it is only to make the character more vivid and closer.

- It must be said that there are few characters in "Life is still beautiful" that are as concerned about appearance as Bat, especially his hauntingly yellow teeth?

Because my teeth in real life are whiter than the character Bat that the director wanted, we had to "make up" my teeth. Because the character Bat is a depraved, disheveled person, having bright, neat teeth would be very unreasonable.

So with ingenuity and special materials, the makeup team created Bat's "trademark" teeth, making this character more convincing in the eyes of the audience.

- How do you feel about the audience's unpleasant comments about Bat's teeth?

When reading comments about the movie and my character, I see that the topic of Bat's teeth is of great interest. People are curious about "Are Bat's teeth the actor's real teeth or just makeup?". Then there are many interesting comments such as "Just breathing on these teeth is enough to ripen a bunch of green bananas"...

I realize that everyone has a different perspective and point of view when evaluating the character Bat: some are positive, some are unpleasant, some are meticulous or even severely critical of this character.

I read them all and feel very happy that people are so interested in the role of Bat. I myself am also selective when receiving comments and suggestions for my character.

- Are you afraid that the character Bat is too impressive, causing you to be "nailed" with this image in the following films?

Actually, I never thought that I would be stuck in any type of role. Every film project that I have the opportunity to participate in, no matter what type of role I am assigned, for me it is luck and an opportunity to hone the career that I am pursuing.

- As a member of the young generation of actors in the troupe, how do you feel when acting alongside veteran names like Meritorious Artist Thanh Quy, Hoang Hai...?

For me, being able to participate in television projects is an honor. Therefore, I always cherish every role that I am assigned. I am also very grateful to director Danh Dung and the film crew for giving me the opportunity to act in Life is still beautiful , to work with great artists.
