Arrest of Deputy Head of the National Assembly Office Pham Thai Ha in connection with the Thuan An Group case

Expanding the investigation into the case of "Violating regulations on bidding causing serious consequences; Giving bribes; Receiving bribes" occurring at Thuan An Group Joint Stock Company and related units and organizations, on April 21, the Investigation Police Agency of the Ministry of Public Security issued a Decision to supplement the criminal case, Decision to prosecute the accused, Order of temporary detention, and Search Warrant against Mr. Pham Thai Ha, Deputy Head of the Office of the National Assembly, Assistant to the Chairman of the National Assembly for the crime of "Taking advantage of position and power to influence others for personal gain" as prescribed in Clause 4, Article 358 of the Penal Code 2015, amended and supplemented in 2017.

On April 22, the Supreme People's Procuracy approved the above orders and decisions. After the Supreme People's Procuracy approved them, the Ministry of Public Security's Investigation Police Agency implemented these orders and decisions.

Currently, the Ministry of Public Security's Investigation Police Agency is focusing its forces, expanding the investigation, clarifying the violations of the defendants and violations at Thuan An Group Joint Stock Company and related units and organizations to strictly handle them according to the provisions of law and thoroughly recover assets.

In which, Nguyen Duy Hung, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Thuan An Group Joint Stock Company was prosecuted for the crimes of "Violating bidding regulations causing serious consequences" and "Giving bribes", stipulated in Clause 3, Article 222 and Clause 4, Article 364 of the Penal Code;

Tran Anh Quang, General Director of Thuan An Group Joint Stock Company, was prosecuted for the crime of "Giving bribes", as prescribed in Clause 4, Article 364 of the Penal Code;

Nguyen Khac Man, Deputy General Director of Thuan An Group Joint Stock Company, was prosecuted for the crimes of "Violating bidding regulations causing serious consequences" and "Giving bribes", as prescribed in Clause 3, Article 222 and Clause 4, Article 364 of the Penal Code;

Nguyen Van Thao, Director and Dam Van Cuong, Deputy Director of the Project Management Board for Investment in Construction of Traffic and Agricultural Works of Bac Giang Province were prosecuted for the crimes of "Violating bidding regulations causing serious consequences" and "Receiving bribes", as prescribed in Clause 3, Article 222 and Clause 4, Article 354 of the Penal Code;

Hoang The Du, Head of the Project Management Board of Bac Giang province, was prosecuted for the crime of "Violating bidding regulations causing serious consequences", as prescribed in Clause 3, Article 222.
