Woman arrested for forging red book and pawning it

On February 20, the Investigation Police Agency of Ben Tre Province announced that it had initiated a case, prosecuted the accused, and executed an arrest warrant to temporarily detain Bui Thi Thanh Truc (43 years old, residing in Binh Khanh Commune, Mo Cay Nam District, Ben Tre) to investigate the act of "using fake documents of agencies and organizations; fraudulently appropriating property" related to the case of forging red books and then mortgaging and borrowing money.

According to the case file, around March 2023, Bui Thi Thanh Truc borrowed money from Mr. PTN (residing in Huong My commune, Mo Cay Nam district, Ben Tre) and lost the ability to repay the debt. After being asked for money by Mr. N. many times, Truc hired someone to forge the red book and continued to use it as collateral for Mr. N. Truc's purpose was to borrow more money from Mr. N., making Mr. N. trust her and not demand the previous debt.

With the above trick, Truc borrowed an additional 750 million VND from Mr. N. This money, Truc used to pay off debts to some other people and for personal expenses. When he discovered that the land papers that Truc had mortgaged to him were fake, Mr. N. went to the police station in Ben Tre province to report Truc.
