Residents of Hung Loc commune, Thong Nhat district, Dong Nai province discovered a newborn baby girl with her umbilical cord still attached, abandoned in a bag in a grapefruit garden.
This morning (December 31), the People's Committee of Hung Loc commune confirmed that it had just received and cared for an abandoned newborn baby girl.
Accordingly, on the afternoon of December 30, some residents of Group 8, Hung Hiep Hamlet, Hung Loc Commune heard the sound of a newborn baby crying coming from a bag placed in a grapefruit garden.
When they opened the bag, they found a newborn baby girl weighing about 3kg, her body still covered in blood and her umbilical cord still uncut.
Immediately, the people reported the incident to the local authorities and took the child to the commune health station for first aid, then transferred him to a higher level for further treatment.
Hung Loc commune authorities quickly arrived at the scene and collected information from those involved.
Hung Loc Commune People's Committee also widely announced to search for the girl's family or relatives.
According to regulations, if no one comes to claim the child within 7 days, the authorities will carry out birth registration procedures and related legal documents, and hand over the child to the adoptive parent according to the law.
