Closing Ceremony of the 10th Petroleum Safety and Hygiene Competition for Excellent Students in 2024

Attending the Closing Ceremony were comrade Huynh Thanh Xuan - Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor ; comrade Le Hong Anh - Vice President of the Vietnam Airlines Corporation Trade Union.

On the side of the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group ( Petrovietnam ) and the Vietnam Oil and Gas Trade Union (VGTU), there were comrade Nguyen Van Mau - Member of the Board of Directors of the Group; comrade Duong Manh Son - Member of the Party Committee, Deputy General Director of the Group; comrade Nghiem Thuy Lan - Member of the Party Committee, President of the VGTU.

The 10th Excellent Safety and Hygiene Contest in 2024 includes the following competitions: skit - greeting, theory and practice (baseline fire prevention and fighting, specialized fire prevention and fighting, first aid for victims), attracting 136 contestants from 20 units in the Oil and Gas industry to participate.

The contest aims to promote propaganda work, raise awareness of methods and skills in the operation of the safety and hygiene network, meet the increasing requirements in labor protection work, propagate laws, policies and regulations of the State on labor protection, obligations and rights of employees and employers in labor relations; Raise awareness in limiting and minimizing risks in the oil and gas industry, thereby ensuring continuous, stable and safe production and business activities in the entire Vietnam Oil and Gas Group.

In particular, the Contest contributes to raising awareness, methods and skills on labor safety, arousing a widespread mass movement, mobilizing workers to actively participate, contributing to building a culture of safety; continuing to promote the movement "Green-Clean-Beautiful, ensuring labor safety and hygiene" at agencies and units.

The contest took place enthusiastically, focusing on contents such as labor protection policies and laws; knowledge of labor safety and hygiene, fire prevention and fighting; skills to handle situations and incidents in practice at the facility; activities of the safety and hygiene network and first aid and on-site fire fighting methods.

Speaking at the competition, Comrade Cao Chi Kien, Deputy Head of the Technology - Safety and Environment Department of the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group, Head of the Jury, congratulated the teams on completing their competitions at the competition. Comrade Cao Chi Kien affirmed that the teams' competitions demonstrated their knowledge, skills, and professional working experience, especially in the field of occupational safety and hygiene, an important task in the Oil and Gas industry. The teams showed their careful preparation and serious learning spirit through impressive competitions from theoretical knowledge to specific practical knowledge and skills.

In the theoretical part, most of the teams demonstrated solid understanding and full grasp of safety procedures. In addition, Comrade Cao Chi Kien also highly appreciated the accuracy of the contestants when answering questions and the confidence of the contestants when facing highly specialized questions. In the practical part, the teams showed solid knowledge, quick handling, good coordination among team members, and precise operations, which demonstrated a deep understanding of safety work in each contestant at the competition.

After 2 days of exciting and interesting competition with lots of useful knowledge, along with enthusiastic cheers from fans, the 10th Petroleum Safety and Hygiene Competition ended successfully.

Comrade Nguyen Manh Kha, Member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Oil and Gas Trade Union and Comrade Vu Anh Tuan, Vice President of the Vietnam Oil and Gas Trade Union awarded the Third Prize to the teams of PVFCCo, PV Drilling, PETROCONs, NSRP.

Encouragement prizes were awarded to PV Trans team; PV Chem, PVOIL, PV Power; PVcomBank; DQS, PQPOC, PVPGB, BIENDONG POC, PV College

The Special Prize for the whole delegation went to PetroVietnam Gas Corporation (PV GAS); First Prize to Vietsovpetro, PVCFC; Second Prize to BSR, PVEP, PTSC; Third Prize to PVFCCo, PV Drilling, PETROCONs, NSRP; Encouragement Prize to PV Trans; PV Chem, PVOIL, PV Power; PVcomBank; DQS, PQPOC, PVPGB, BIENDONG POC, PV College.

With prizes in the competition contents, Short Story Prize: First Prize PTSC, PVEP; Second Prize PVOIL; Third Prize Vietsovpetro.

Practical awards: Basic Fire Prevention Practice, DQS First Prize, PV Trans Second Prize, PVFCCo Third Prize; Specialized Fire Prevention Practice, BSR First Prize, PV GAS Second Prize, PTSC Third Prize. First Aid Practice, BSR First Prize; PV Drilling Second Prize; PVOIL Third Prize.

Award prizes to groups and individuals in the competition and thematic awards.

In addition, the Vietnam Oil and Gas Trade Union also awarded 20 thematic prizes, including collective prizes, teams with the most enthusiastic supporters: PVFCCo, Vietsovpetro; teams with an introduction to the artistic and creative unit: PVCFC, PV Trans, PV Drilling; Skits written and directed by union leaders and staff: Vietsovpetro, BSR, PETROCONs, PV Chem, PVEP, PVCFC, PVFCCo; Skits with high propaganda and education significance: NSRP; Teams with magnificent stage props PVOIL; Promising unit prizes: PQPOC, BIENDONG POC, PVcomBank. Individual prizes include awards for impressive male/female actors: La Thi Uyen (PETROCONs); Duong Thanh Lam (PV Power); Duong Ngoc Ha (PVFCCo).

President of Vietnam Occupational Safety and Health Union Nghiem Thuy Lan delivered the closing speech at the 10th Excellent Safety and Health Workers Competition, 2024.

In her closing speech, comrade Nghiem Thuy Lan, President of the Vietnam Air Traffic Safety Union, said that after two days of extremely exciting and attractive competition, with 20 teams, 150 contestants and 350 security guards participating in artistic skits and especially a very large fan base of over 500 people.

Comrade Nghiem Thuy Lan highly appreciated the organization work, the members of the organizing committee were very diligent, elaborate and extremely professional; there were many new points, from the contest content to the contest forms and the quality of the contest. In particular, the contest teams used technology and software in this contest, so that the organization work was professional, objective, public, transparent, the contestants and safety officers had an experience at the contest.

Comrade Nghiem Thuy Lan commented that this year's contest skits were invested in carefully and elaborately by the teams, with many rich and diverse genres, including singing, dancing, drama, rap... The skits were very lively, interesting and meaningful as well as highly educational, especially promoting and introducing the brands of the units and expressing the pride of the Oil and Gas workers in the unit, in the Group and the growth and development of the Group. The theoretical and situational test contents were very difficult and complicated, with more than 350 questions, but the candidates selected from the base were very excellent, some candidates answered in less than 10 seconds, which affirmed that the candidates had reviewed very carefully and comprehensively to complete the theoretical and practical test well.

With many awards given, President Nghiem Thuy Lan affirmed that "The 10th Excellent Safety and Hygiene Contest was a great success, achieving the goal set by the organizing committee, which is that the entire Group together promotes and propagates safety work among all employees of units in the Oil and Gas industry and promotes the consideration of safety work as the top priority and the survival of units and the Oil and Gas industry".

The 10th Petroleum Safety and Hygiene Competition 2024 successfully ended in an exciting atmosphere, spreading the beauty of the labor safety culture of the Oil and Gas industry. This is an opportunity for workers to improve their knowledge and skills in safety work and will continue to be responsible propagandists in building a safety culture, contributing to the sustainable development of the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group.
