Marburg virus outbreak in West Africa: Dangerous but not contagious

Although not a new disease, Marburg virus disease is dangerous because of its high mortality rate. The disease is easily transmitted between people through skin contact, contact with surfaces containing the virus, and through secretions. There is no vaccine to prevent or specific treatment for the disease, while this dangerous disease is showing signs of an outbreak in West Africa.
