- Thanh Nien Newspaper started construction of a bridge in Tran Hoi commune, Tran Van Thoi district.
Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Ho Hai, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ngo Vu Thang, representatives of sponsors and local authorities cut the ribbon to inaugurate Kenh Coi Ba bridge.
According to the reporter, the old Kenh Coi Ba bridge was built nearly 20 years ago, the bridge surface is only 1.5 m wide and in a state of serious degradation, posing a risk to the safety of people and vehicles. Thanh Nien Newspaper has stepped in to build a bridge, mobilizing funds to build a new bridge with a scale of 3.2 m wide, 39 m long with a cost of 830 million VND. After 2 months of construction, Kenh Coi Ba bridge sponsored by Thanh Nien Newspaper and sponsors has been officially completed and put into use, contributing to the completion of local infrastructure.
Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Ho Hai joined the locals and students in celebrating the bridge inauguration, free medical examination and treatment, and awarding scholarships from sponsors connected by Thanh Nien Newspaper.
Journalist Nguyen Ngoc Toan said: “Starting from the idea of Thanh Nien Newspaper staff to connect bridges of humanity, connect shores of joy, Thanh Nien Newspaper Journalists Association coordinated with sponsors to start construction of Kenh Coi Ba Bridge last June. On behalf of the sponsors, Journalist Nguyen Ngoc Toan sent his sincere gratitude to local leaders, especially Secretary of Ca Mau Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Ho Hai, for their close attention to complete the bridge and put it into use before the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2.

Secretary of the Ca Mau Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Ho Hai shared: “I am happy with the people and the locality when a new bridge is invested in and solidly built. Not only that, in the program, Thanh Nien Newspaper, Cho Ray Hospital and sponsors also organized humanitarian medical examinations, gave scholarships, etc. This shows that all social resources, big or small, are directed towards the people, not leaving anyone behind.”
Doctors at Cho Ray Hospital provide free medical examinations to people in Tran Van Thoi commune.

Mr. Thai Van Hoang, a resident of Kenh Coi Ba, excitedly said: “The people are very happy with the new bridge, the children are about to go to school, so we feel more secure. This bridge was built very quickly and is of good quality. In the future, it will be convenient for people to transport and buy and sell anything.”
Mrs. Tran Tuyet Loan, whose house is only about 100 meters from the bridge, excitedly said: “With this bridge, the village looks much more spacious. The people thank the sponsor and the community for their support to the people in the rural areas. Today, the young and old are all happy to cross the new, beautiful bridge.”
During the groundbreaking and inauguration ceremonies, Thanh Nien Newspaper mobilized sponsors to give gifts to disadvantaged households and scholarships to poor students with a total sponsorship value of more than 1.3 billion VND.
