Loyal to the "Ten Oaths of Honor" of soldiers, each officer and soldier of Lai Chau Border Guard has been making efforts day and night to overcome difficulties and challenges, promote the spirit of solidarity, self-reliance, and determination to excellently complete all assigned political tasks.

"On the honor of a revolutionary soldier, I swear under the glorious flag of the Fatherland. One, to sacrifice everything for the Fatherland of Vietnam, under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam , to strive for a peaceful, independent and socialist Vietnam, to actively contribute to the world's struggle for peace, national independence, democracy and socialism. I swear."

The 10 oaths of honor compiled and recited by the late General Vo Nguyen Giap, sworn by the Vietnam Propaganda Liberation Army on December 22, 1944 in the forest of Cao Bang province, have been chanted by the border guards on the front line of the Fatherland in Lai Chau for 80 years.

For every soldier, the moment of standing up to recite the oath every morning is a sacred and noble moment.

Private Lo Van Chung, Armed Platoon, Ma Lu Thang Border Guard Station shared that he was extremely proud to wear the border guard uniform, and even more honored to recite the 10 honorable oaths of a soldier. He promised to try his best to fulfill his duty as a soldier, strictly implementing all orders and directives of the army and laws of the State.

Each word of the oath echoes every Monday morning at the Border Guard Stations on the Lai Chau border strip, creating spiritual strength for soldiers and people living in villages along the border. Then, on each patrol, the footsteps of soldiers and people crossing streams and mountain peaks are not afraid of difficulties and dangers. Each step on the bumpy roads and steep cliffs is a testament to their sacrifice and patriotism.

Lieutenant Colonel Vang A Lau, Political Commissar, Ma Lu Thang Border Guard Station, Phong Tho District, when thinking about the 10 oaths in the Vietnam People's Army, they are very proud. As soldiers guarding the first gateway, protecting the sacred land of the Fatherland, they realize that they must do a good job of building a strong army and ensuring border foreign affairs.

In the remote border area of Thu Lum, Muong Te District (Lai Chau), it has become a common practice for border guards to hold dialogues with the people. These meetings not only help the army and people understand each other better, but also create opportunities for people to express their opinions, wishes, and difficulties in life.

Being close to the people, having fun with the people, sharing joys and difficulties with the people has become the daily work of every border guard officer and soldier; thereby contributing to creating trust in the people, so that the people can stand side by side with the border guards to build a solid people's border defense posture.

Lieutenant Colonel Lu Lu Chu, Chief of Thu Lum Border Guard Station in Muong Te District, said that soldiers are always ready and coordinate to carry out their tasks, helping people stabilize and trust in the border management and protection work of the border guards. From there, people, together with the border guards, participate in protecting their homeland's borders.

It is from that connection, along with the practical and specific actions that the Border Guard has implemented, that the border people have more confidence in the leadership of Party committees and authorities at all levels, feel secure in working and production, and are ready to stand side by side with the force to guard every inch of the sacred land of the Fatherland.

Mr. Si Si Hu, the village leader of Thu Lum 2 village, Thu Lum commune, Muong Te district, said that he is a militiaman who coordinates with the border guards to regularly patrol the border, and at the same time reminds people who want to visit relatives in neighboring countries to complete all paperwork procedures.

Chang Minh Phuong, a 12A1 student at Muong Te Ethnic Boarding High School, shared that his father's oath to keep at the border will certainly be continued by today's young generation.

"Border guards always strive to maintain and promote their role for the Fatherland, as well as help the people. As a student, the future of the country, I will try my best to contribute my small efforts to the cause of building and protecting the Fatherland," said Chang Minh Phuong.

According to Colonel Le Cong Thanh, Deputy Political Commissar of Lai Chau Provincial Border Guard Command, in the thoughts and actions of officers and soldiers of the border guard force, the "ten oaths of honor" are very sacred, an honorable promise before the Party, before the Fatherland, before the people. Therefore, in any conditions or circumstances, each person always upholds the spirit, sense of responsibility, and strives to complete all assigned tasks well.

"Along with maintaining and implementing daily and weekly regimes, learning, memorizing and understanding the profound meaning of the 10 military oaths of honor is a mandatory requirement for officers and soldiers in the Vietnam People's Army in general, including border guards. Through the 10 oaths, each officer and soldier is educated in love for the Fatherland, responsibility, and noble and sacred duty towards the Fatherland and the army. Whatever one does, one cannot affect the honor of the army and the nation. From there, each officer and soldier needs to try, strive and demonstrate responsibility, as well as build a stronger character," said Colonel Le Cong Thanh.

On the peaceful, green border, the steady footsteps of Lai Chau Border Guard are still quietly taking the lead, proactively grasping the situation early and from afar; together with the border people, determined to make many new achievements in firmly protecting every inch of sacred land and the border sovereignty of the Fatherland.
