In 2025, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology will enroll 5,550 students. The school applies a comprehensive admission method for the majority of candidates along with the direct admission method according to the admission regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training and the school's regulations (accounting for only 1-5% of the total enrollment target). The comprehensive admission method includes criteria on academic ability, other abilities, and social activities, accounting for 95-99% of the total enrollment target.

Associate Professor Bui Hoai Thang, Head of Training Department of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, predicted that this year's benchmark score may decrease, but the decrease will be very small compared to last year because the 2025 score scale is 100 compared to the 2024 score scale of 90, or it may not even decrease.
