It is forecasted that in the next 24 hours, the low pressure area in the East Sea will likely strengthen into a tropical depression. Heavy rain will continue to cover many regions on the mainland of our country.

The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said that currently (August 15), a low pressure area has formed in the central part of the East Sea. At Huyen Tran station, there are strong southwest winds of level 5, sometimes level 6.

Forecast in the next 24 hours, the low pressure area will move slowly in the North Northwest direction, likely to strengthen into a typhoon. tropical depression

On the mainland, from now until the night of August 16, the Northeast, Thanh Hoa and Nghe An will have moderate rain, heavy rain and thunderstorms. The Central Highlands and the South will have moderate rain, heavy rain and thunderstorms, with common rainfall of 50-100 mm, with very heavy rain in some places over 200 mm.

In addition, in the afternoon and night of August 15, the Northwest, Ha Tinh to Da Nang and the eastern provinces from Quang Ngai to Dak Lak will have scattered showers and thunderstorms, heavy to very heavy rain, rainfall of 15-30mm, locally over 100mm.

The eastern region of Khanh Hoa and Lam Dong has rain, moderate rain and scattered thunderstorms, locally heavy to very heavy rain with rainfall from 20-40mm, locally over 100mm. Risk of heavy rain with rainfall over 100mm in just 3 hours.

In the coming hours, Lai Chau, Dien Bien, Lao Cai, and Tuyen Quang are localities at risk of flash flood on small rivers and streams, landslides on slopes in many communes/wards after hours of heavy rain. Specifically:

Lai Chau: Ban Bo, Bum Nua, Hua Bum, Khun Ha, Le Loi, Muong Khoa, Nam Cuoi, Nam So, Nam Tam, Pa U, Phong Tho, Pu Sam Cap, Thu Lum.

Dien Bien: Muong Pon, Na Sang, Muong Nha, Muong Phang, Na Tau, Nua Ngam, Muong Lay ward, Phinh Giang, Si Pa Phin, Sin Chai, Sin Thau, Sinh Phinh.

Lao Cai: Chan Thinh; Ban Ho, Cam Nhan, Chau Que, Coc Lau, Gia Phu, Hung Khanh, Luong Thinh, Ta Van, Thac Ba, Thuong Ha, Yen Binh.

Tuyen Quang: Dong Tam, Linh Ho, Thuong Lam; Binh An, Ham Yen, Hong Thai, Lam Binh, Minh Quang, Na Hang, Thai Son, Trung Ha, Yen Phu.
