On the morning of July 28, Nam Du Border Guard Station ( An Giang Provincial Border Guard Command) received information that a vehicle had sunk in the waters of Cu Tron Hamlet, Kien Hai Special Zone.
Preliminary information, heavy rain accompanied by storms sank the squid fishing vessel CM-05006-TS. The vessel had 5 crew members; Mr. Nguyen Van Khoi (born in 1974, residing in Ca Mau province) was the captain.
Next, the unit received information that the CM-05430-TS vessel had also sunk. There were 4 crew members on board; Mr. Tran Van Doan (born in 1980, residing in Ca Mau province) was the captain.
Border guards take care of the health of the sailors in distress.
Upon receiving the information, the Party Committee and the Command Board of the unit promptly sent 10 comrades to participate in the rescue; mobilized 2 tourist boats Ngoc Lam and Sau Co, along with other fishing boats to support the search. By noon of the same day, the unit found 9 crew members and brought them to Bai Chet Border Control Station for health care.
On the same afternoon, the border guards completed the salvage and towed the two vehicles to Bai Chet wharf area for repair. The task was carried out to ensure the safety of people and vehicles.
