(QNO) - Rang beach (Tam Quang commune, Nui Thanh) is increasingly dirty due to the household waste that is indiscriminately discharged into the environment by locals and tourists when swimming and playing.
During the summer, weekends and holidays, Rang beach is a popular destination for locals and tourists to relax, have fun and have fun . However, in recent years, this beach has become dirty with garbage.
It is worth mentioning that in addition to the household waste washed up by the waves, many locals and tourists who come here to swim bring along utensils and pre-prepared food to cook right on the reefs. At the end of the day, they leave piles of waste right at the eating places.
About 200m from the beach area, there is a large sign reminding people not to litter, erected by the local government, but it seems that not many people care.
A nearby shrine was also visited by a group of young people who brought food and drinks to eat and play.
Mr. Ngo Quang Dien (Xuan Trung village, Tam Quang) sells refreshments and snacks near the reef at Rang beach. He said that on weekends and holidays, thousands of people gather to swim and have fun at the reef. They go in groups and bring their own food and drinks, which they prepare on the reef. Then they litter right there, not many people are aware of collecting and disposing of the trash properly. Previously, there were 2 employees of the environmental company who came every day to collect trash, but recently they have not seen it anymore.
“After a day of trading, my wife and I collect trash around the reef to burn or bury. I have repeatedly reminded everyone to keep the public clean, but nothing has changed, trash is still strewn everywhere. On stormy days, big waves have washed a significant amount of trash into the sea, otherwise there is no way to handle it all,” said Mr. Dien.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Trung (Tam Anh Nam commune, Nui Thanh) took his child to swim at Rang beach and said he was very concerned about the situation of garbage floating all over the coast.
Ms. Huynh Thi My Dung - Chairwoman of Tam Quang Commune People's Committee said that recently, the commune government has regularly coordinated with the Youth Union to clean up the commune and continue to coordinate with military units stationed in the area to clean up garbage at Rang beach.
“Propaganda to raise awareness of hygiene among locals and tourists is also difficult. In the coming time, the commune government will make recommendations to the Department of Natural Resources and Environment for management plans,” said Ms. Dung.
