Speaking at the conference, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee expressed his honor that Quang Binh was chosen as the venue for the conference to review the first 6 months of 2024 of the entire Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs sector. He affirmed that over the past time, social security work in the area has always received the province's attention and focus; the material and spiritual life of the people has gradually improved; targets and tasks on labor work and meritorious people have always achieved and exceeded the set plan. In the first 6 months of 2024, the whole province had over 14,000 workers with jobs, of which nearly 2,900 workers were selected to work abroad for a limited period under contracts. The annual poverty rate has decreased by an average of 1.0%, now remaining at 3.9% with about 10,000 poor households. The work of resolving policies and regimes for war invalids, martyrs, Vietnamese Heroic Mothers and people with meritorious services continues to be fully and promptly implemented. The protection and care of children, prevention of social evils, gender equality, etc. are implemented synchronously and effectively, contributing to ensuring social security and building the homeland of Quang Binh to become increasingly rich, beautiful and civilized.
The results achieved reflect the great efforts and determination of the entire Party Committee, government and people of Quang Binh province, including the important contributions of the provincial Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs as well as the attention and direction of the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs . According to the report of the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, in the first 6 months of 2024, the Ministry has organized the synchronous, flexible and effective implementation of tasks and solutions in the fields of labor, meritorious people and society; promptly handled and responded to policies; performed regular tasks while focusing on handling backlogs and newly arising issues; promptly advised, proposed and reported to the Government and the Prime Minister to resolve and handle issues in the sector's fields. In addition, the Ministry has also effectively implemented policy communication work, contributing to creating consensus among the business community and people on the work of advising and operating policies and laws in the fields of labor, meritorious people and society; paid subsidies to 1,091,324 people with an estimated budget of more than 16,104 trillion VND; appraise and submit to the Prime Minister 239 new Certificates of Merit to the Fatherland, re-issue 4,651 Certificates of Merit to the Fatherland...; direct the synchronous implementation of solutions to develop the labor market to maintain a stable labor force. Currently, the whole country has 28% of trained workers with degrees and certificates, an increase of 1.4 percentage points; 51.4 million workers have jobs, an increase of 195.7 thousand people compared to the same period last year; 78,640 workers go to work under contracts abroad, reaching 62.91% of the plan...
