Vietnam's Ministry of National Defense is ready to support the Lao Ministry of National Defense in organizing a parade to celebrate the 50th anniversary of National Day.

That was the information given by General Phan Van Giang during a meeting with Senior Lieutenant General Khamliang Outhakaysone, Lao Minister of Defense, on the afternoon of October 14 in the capital Vientiane.

Ready to support and accompany the Lao Ministry of National Defense in organizing the 50th National Day

On October 14, in the capital Vientiane (Laos), Senior Lieutenant General Khamliang Outhakaysone, Minister of National Defense of Laos, chaired the welcoming ceremony and held talks with General Phan Van Giang, Minister of National Defense of Vietnam.

A high-ranking delegation of the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense, led by General Phan Van Giang, paid an official visit to Laos, attended the annual meeting between the three Defense Ministers and a joint search and rescue exercise between the armies of Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia in Laos.

At the meeting, Senior Lieutenant General Khamliang Outhakaysone expressed his condolences over the great losses in lives and property of the Vietnamese people caused by recent storms and floods.

Senior Lieutenant General Khamliang Outhakaysone affirmed that Laos always remembers and is grateful for Vietnam's support, assistance and enormous contributions in the past struggle for national liberation and reunification as well as in the current cause of national renewal, construction, protection and development.

Also at the talks, General Phan Van Giang and Senior Lieutenant General Khamliang Outhakaysone agreed that in the coming time, the two sides will continue to coordinate and effectively implement propaganda and education work on the history, significance and importance of the great Vietnam - Laos relationship, especially for the younger generation; continue to attach importance to cooperation in human resource training, considering this an issue of long-term strategic significance, serving as the core to consolidate the foundation of the special relationship between the two countries and the two armies.

Strengthen cooperation in technical logistics, capacity development and information technology infrastructure; continue to support each other in multilateral forums; continue to maintain the mechanism of annual meetings between the three Defense Ministers and joint search and rescue exercises between the armies of Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia with rich and substantial forms and contents, in accordance with the tradition and solidarity between the three neighboring brotherly countries.

General Phan Van Giang emphasized that this year, the Lao Party and State will celebrate the 50th anniversary of National Day. This is a great event not only for Laos but also a common joy for the Vietnamese people.

With experience in organizing recent major activities, the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense is ready to support and accompany the Lao Ministry of National Defense to carry out this important task.

On this occasion, the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense presented the Lao Ministry of National Defense with three command vehicles, white gloves, and gaiters for the parade; and also sent fireworks produced by the Vietnamese defense industry to celebrate this historic anniversary.

General Phan Van Giang and Senior Lieutenant General Khamliang Outhakaysone believe that the annual meeting between the three Defense Ministers and the joint search and rescue exercise between the armies of Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia, taking place on October 15, will be a great success, continuing to deepen the solidarity and close relationship between the three countries in general and the three armies in particular in the context of the extremely complicated developments in the world and the region.

At the end of the talks, the two Defense Ministers signed a memorandum of understanding on enhancing cooperation in the fields of training, coaching and human resource development.

On the same day, General Phan Van Giang paid a courtesy visit to Lao General Secretary and President Thongloun Sisoulith and Lao Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone.

General Phan Van Giang conveyed the warm regards of General Secretary To Lam, President Luong Cuong, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and other high-ranking Vietnamese leaders to General Secretary and President Thongloun Sisoulith and Lao Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone.

At the same time, he informed General Secretary and President Thongloun Sisoulith and Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone about the recent situation in Vietnam, the results of cooperation between the two Defense Ministries in recent times, as well as the results of the previous talks with Senior Lieutenant General Khamliang Outhakaysone.
