
Supplementing and perfecting the draft Government Decree on the International Financial Center
Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh chaired a meeting with leaders of several ministries and branches on the draft Decree on the establishment of an international financial center in Vietnam. Reporting at the meeting, the Deputy Minister of Finance said that he had sent a document to solicit opinions from ministries, branches and two localities on the draft Decree. At the same time, he sent it to the Ministry of Justice for appraisal on the proposal to develop the Decree. He organized meetings and seminars to solicit additional opinions and complete the dossier.
Based on the appraisal opinions, the Ministry of Finance has supplemented, revised and completed the draft Decree, submitted to the Government on October 13. At the meeting this afternoon, leaders of ministries and branches discussed and gave opinions on the draft contents, especially the contents related to different options on the legal status of the executive agency and the supervisory agency of the international financial center for which the Ministry of Finance has asked for the Government's opinion.
In his concluding remarks, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh requested the Ministry of Finance to absorb the comments and continue to seek opinions from experts, especially international experts, to supplement and complete the draft Decree. At the same time, the Permanent Deputy Prime Minister also gave specific comments on the proposed options for the international financial center supervisory agency based on a clear analysis of the functions, tasks, advantages and limitations of each option.
