Sharing his joy at welcoming Professor Satish K. Tripathi, Minister Nguyen Kim Son mentioned the increasingly growing comprehensive partnership between Vietnam and the United States and the responsibility of ministries and branches in promoting this cooperation, including in the field of education and training.

According to the Minister, in fact, education and training, science and technology are typical in the cooperation between Vietnam and the United States. Therefore, Vietnam is very interested in promoting further cooperation between Vietnamese and US universities.
The Minister shared that Vietnam is on the path of development, the learning needs of Vietnamese youth are very large. Even when the living standards of the people are not high, there are still many Vietnamese students studying abroad in the US. The growing economy also increases the demand for university-level human resources in Vietnam. Cooperation between Vietnamese higher education institutions and higher education institutions around the world is one of the ways to accelerate the development of schools, as well as satisfy the learning needs of the people.

The Minister also informed that Vietnam is currently very interested in training in a number of technical and high-tech fields such as AI, IT, semiconductor chips, etc. and hopes that there will be cooperation between the University of Buffalo and a group of institutions that train in these fields in Vietnam. The Ministry of Education and Training will support and assist these cooperations.
In addition, the Minister also requested the cooperation support of the University of Buffalo in implementing doctoral training for Vietnamese universities according to Project 89 dated January 18, 2019 of the Prime Minister; supporting Vietnam in implementing the Project on training high-quality human resources to serve high-tech development.

Accordingly, the University at Buffalo currently has more than 30,000 students, including 5,000 international students. The number of Vietnamese students studying at the University at Buffalo is currently about 50 people, including interns. The school has two major research centers on artificial intelligence and semiconductor technology.
With the goal of enhancing cooperation in training and research between universities, the University at Buffalo has supported a number of countries in training university teaching staff and has a number of cooperation programs to train lecturers and students in engineering.
During this visit to Vietnam, Professor Satish K. Tripathi shared his wish to expand cooperation in Vietnam.

Thanking Minister Nguyen Kim Son for his suggestions and comments on some cooperation contents between the University of Buffalo and Vietnamese universities, Professor Satish K. Tripathi expressed his pleasure to cooperate with Vietnamese universities.
The University of Buffalo also hopes to create connections between students and lecturers between the school and universities in training and research in the field of technology.
