On the afternoon of June 5, weightlifter Chau Hoang Tuyet Loan competed in the women's 55kg weightlifting event at the Techo Sen National Center for the Disabled.

Tuyet Loan won 2 gold medals on competition day 5/6

Tuyet Loan was successful in all 3 lifts with weights of 91kg, 95kg and 98kg respectively.

Meanwhile, the person behind her, Hat Motnok, was only successful at the first two weights of 78kg and 80kg, and failed at the last weight of 82kg.

In the end, Tuyet Loan won the gold medal for her best weightlifting performance of 98kg and total weight after 3 attempts of 284kg - 126kg more than the runner-up.

Notably, Tuyet Loan also successfully conquered the additional weight of 105kg to break the old record (104kg) set by herself at the congress.

On the afternoon of June 5, the Vietnamese weightlifting team also won 3 more silver medals thanks to Nguyen Be Hau (65kg class), Nguyen Thi Thanh Thuy (61kg class) and Tran Thi Chau (67kg class).

Thus, after 2 days of competition, the Weightlifting Team contributed 8 gold medals, 5 silver medals and 5 bronze medals to the Vietnamese delegation.

Meanwhile, the Vietnamese para-swimming team brought home 11 medals on June 5, including 6 gold, 3 silver and 2 bronze medals, and set 5 new records.

Along with the Swimming Team, the Athletics Team also won 2 more gold medals thanks to Nguyen Thi Hai (javelin throw) and Ngo Thi Lan Thanh (javelin throw).

In chess, Pham Thi Huong won the gold medal in the individual event. In addition, she and Tran Ngoc Loan won another gold medal in the team event.

Doan Thu Huyen and Nguyen Thi Kieu also brought home another gold medal in the rapid chess team event for the PI disabled category.

As of 9:00 p.m. on June 5, the Vietnamese disabled sports delegation had 29 gold medals, 24 silver medals, and 35 bronze medals, temporarily ranking second on the overall ranking of the 12th ASEAN Para Games.

Meanwhile, Indonesia still leads the overall rankings with 53 gold medals and is the first team to achieve more than 120 medals after 2 days of competition.
