Ministry of Construction plans to cut VND3,600 billion in administrative compliance fees

On June 6, at the conference to deploy tasks for June, the Ministry of Construction said that it had reviewed and compiled a list of administrative procedures related to production and business under its management. From this result, the ministry is determined to drastically cut down on administrative procedures.

Implementing Resolution 66-NQ/TW on innovation in law making and enforcement, along with the Prime Minister 's directives, based on the statistical list, the Ministry of Construction has determined that it is necessary to cut 174 business conditions (38%); 278 administrative procedures (66%); 1,197 days to handle administrative procedures (29.2%); 3,600 billion VND in administrative procedure compliance costs (29.1%).

Currently, agencies and units under the ministry are implementing step 2, which is to complete the plan to reduce and simplify administrative procedures related to production and business, ensuring the reduction rate and reporting schedule to the Prime Minister before June 30.

The Ministry of Construction is also urgently conducting a comprehensive review, proposing amendments and supplements to legal documents in the direction of promoting decentralization and thorough delegation of power to local authorities, associated with the organization and implementation of two-level local authorities.

It is expected that the number of tasks and powers to be decentralized and delegated is 118/235 tasks, accounting for 50.21% of the total number of tasks and powers being performed.

The Ministry of Construction only retains tasks of a general nature, system safety such as national railway infrastructure, technical contents, specialized expertise, which cannot be decentralized to localities, tasks related to national defense and security such as airspace management, and authorities as prescribed by international treaties.
