From August 8 to 10, the second stage of the SEA V.League 2025 Women's Volleyball Tournament will take place, with the participation of 4 teams: Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia and the Philippines.

Thailand won the first leg with a perfect record of 3 wins. Including a dramatic score chase in the final match against Vietnam. Despite falling behind twice, the Thai women's volleyball team still won in the end.

There was much controversy after the match, revolving around the referee's rather confusing decisions. Among them was a sensitive decision that gave Thailand an advantage in the second game.

The controversy spread when star Pimpichaya Kokram responded to criticism from Vietnamese fans on social media.

Specifically, when there was a "dirty" comment directed towards the Thai team, Pimpichaya replied: "I am a woman". This comment is considered to be sarcastic towards the star Bich Tuyen of Vietnam. In another critical comment, Pimpichaya declared: "See you in Vietnam".

Arguments after intense matches are common in top sports .

While Vietnam is eager to avenge the bitter defeat, Thailand also needs a warm-up match for the World Cup that they will host in 2 weeks.

Therefore, coach Kiattipong decided to call up the strongest squad to participate in the second round of SEA V.League. After being given a rest in the first round, two stars Chatchu-On and Wimonrat were called back.

Chatchu-On, 25 years old, is considered the best striker of Thai women's volleyball at the moment. She is currently playing in Japan. Due to a minor injury in VNL 2025, Chatchu-On was given a break in stage 1.

Similarly, middle blocker Wimonrat also returned to the national team. This 23-year-old star is also playing in Japan and is considered a future pillar of Thai women's volleyball.

Thailand and Vietnam will face off on the final day of the second leg, August 10. This time, Vietnam will play host.
