The Chinese volleyball team defeated South Korea after 3 games with the scores of 25-12, 25-21, 25-16. This result helps the Vietnamese women's volleyball team to secure the right to enter the semi-finals of ASIAD 19. This is the first time the Vietnamese women's volleyball team has entered the top 4 medal teams in the history of participating in the Asian Games .
After convincingly topping the group in round 1, the Vietnamese women's team advanced to round 2 and secured a victory (2 points) against South Korea. Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet and his team defeated North Korea this afternoon (October 4), thereby gaining 3 more points, temporarily ranking second in group E.
The Chinese team has 6 points. South Korea has only one point and North Korea has no points, which is certain to be eliminated. Tomorrow, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team will face China in a match to determine the top spot in the group. The chance of winning for coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet and his team is not high because the opponent is of a superior level.

Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet said: " The Vietnamese team will have a reasonable strategy against China. We will not use all our strength but focus on the last two matches, especially the match against the group winner on the other side. In the immediate future, these are matches that directly affect the team's ability to compete for medals ."
" Even if we give it our all, it will be difficult for the Vietnamese team to get a good result against China. Up to now, including the ASIAD, the team has competed in its 12th tournament of the year. The players are still in good health and physical condition ."
2022 marked a great step forward for Vietnamese women's volleyball. The team won the Asian Club Championship under the name Sport Center 1, then won the silver medal at the 32nd SEA Games. The next success of the Vietnamese team was winning the AVC Challenge Cup and qualifying for the 2023 FIVB Challenger Cup. At the 2023 Asian Championship and the 19th ASIAD, Thanh Thuy and her teammates both reached the semi-finals.
