Mr. Nguyen The Sinh, Principal of Quang Trung Primary School ( Hue City, Thua Thien-Hue Province), stated that the images of meal trays appearing on social media were indeed taken at the school, but the portions in the trays were not the portions intended for the school's students.
Quang Trung Primary School (Hue City).
Currently, the school charges 27,000 VND per meal for the boarding school lunch. This includes approximately 4,000-5,000 VND for a snack (boxed fresh milk or yogurt, etc.) and 800 VND for gas. Therefore, the main boarding school meal for the students costs around 21,000-22,000 VND per meal.
In addition, the school also collects 10,000 VND/day for the lunch service. However, according to the explanation of the Principal of Quang Trung Primary School, this fee is not related to the lunch service but is for the children's lunch break.
According to the principal, the school organizes a boarding program for students based on their wishes. The boarding staff consists of 23 people hired by the school, who have signed contracts and receive full social insurance coverage. Food is also purchased by the school through a supplier company and has official invoices.
The school always strives to provide the best quality meals for students and to satisfy parents. However, there may still be meals that do not meet the highest quality standards, leading to dissatisfaction among some parents.
The photo, posted by the school, shows the lunch portion served to students at Quang Trung Primary School on April 11th.
" We are currently verifying the origin of the images appearing on social media, who took them, why they are there, and the purpose of those who posted them. After we have the results, we will submit a report to the Department of Education and Training and the People's Committee of Hue City, " said the principal of Quang Trung Primary School.
According to the leaders of the Hue City People's Committee, after receiving the information, the Hue City People's Committee formed a team to conduct an on-site inspection of the school lunch program. The inspection revealed that the meals were adequate and different from the photos provided by parents. However, the unit also made corrections and required the school to ensure the quality of meals for students.
All classes have parent Zalo groups, and the inspection team requested that homeroom teachers update students' daily meal information so that parents are aware and objectivity is ensured.
Previously, some parents of students at Quang Trung Primary School (Hue City) complained that their children's school lunch was far inferior to the cheap street food sold on the roadside.
According to parents, they have to pay 27,000 VND per student per day, which includes a midday meal, a yogurt in the early afternoon, and gas. In addition, each student has to pay an extra 180,000 VND for 18 sessions (equivalent to 10,000 VND per session) for the midday meal service. Therefore, the total amount parents have to pay to Quang Trung Primary School for midday meals is 37,000 VND per student per day. This is not the first time they have complained about the quality of the school's midday meals.
Images of school lunch meals have gone viral on social media.
However, in a response posted on the school's portal, a representative from Quang Trung Primary School affirmed that the images of lunch trays shared by parents on some social media sites were not the meals the school prepared for students on the afternoon of April 11th.
Every day, the prepared food is divided into trays in the kitchen and then transported to the multi-purpose hall and classrooms. When the students sit down at the table, the teacher in charge of the lunch service pours soup for them. Only then do the students begin their lunch. The image of lunch on April 11th was publicly shared in the school's parent group, as usual.
" The daily menus and school lunches for students are always photographed and sent to the two Zalo groups used for communication between the school and parents ," the school added.
