The Indonesian U22 team is entering the final stages of preparation for the 2025 SEA Games in Thailand, with the official announcement of the list of 23 players participating. Among them, four talented names playing abroad, including Ivar Jenner, Dion Markx, Mauro Zijlstra and Marselino Ferdinan, have all been confirmed to register to compete.

More importantly, according to Mr. Sumardji, Manager of the Indonesian national teams, the goal of U22 Indonesia is only to reach the final of the 32nd SEA Games in Thailand.

Initially, the goal of the archipelago team was to defend the SEA Games gold medal (achieved in 2023 in Cambodia), but PSSI later lowered the target to reduce pressure.

With the addition of stars playing in Europe, midfielder Ivar Jenner (FC Utrecht), two strikers Marselino Ferdinan (playing for Trenčín on loan from Oxford United), Mauro Zijlstra (FC Volendam), and defender Dion Markx (TOP Oss), coach Indra Sjafri almost has the strongest squad.

The team is scheduled to depart for Thailand on November 28 with 19 domestic players, while four foreign talents will fly in later and join the team before November 30.

Now, after Cambodia withdrew, the SEA Games men's football competition is forced to be adjusted. Indonesia will be in Group C with Myanmar and the Philippines.
