Musician Anh Quan believes that "if you are a singer, you must have an album". Because an album is a product to express the singer's personality and musical thinking.
Many versatile singers
The explosion of technology has made digital music dominate, physical albums (CDs) have become outdated and almost disappeared. However, recently, with the rise of many Gen Z singers, physical albums have returned. Physical albums of many young singers have achieved unexpected success, such as: "Ai" by tlinh, "LOICHOI" by Wren Evans or "Vu tru co bay" by Phuong My Chi...
For professionals, an album not only marks the singer's unique mark in his or her singing career, but also demonstrates patience, dedication, and enduring passion for music. For audiences, an album helps shape the singer's musical style. For singers, they not only prove that "an album is a must" but also show serious investment in the path they have chosen.
On Spotify, GREY D (born 2000) is the Vietnamese male singer with the most listeners in 2023, just behind rapper MCK. Including international artists in Vietnam, he is only behind singer Jungkook, rapper MCK and the group BTS.
Having been active in the music industry for a year, GREY D has had a series of hits such as "Vaicaunoicokhiennguoithaydoi", "Co hen voi thanh xuan", "Du doan thoi thay hom nay mua", "Tinh thuc sau giac dong"... and most recently "Dua em ve nha". These songs were all composed by GREY D. The lyrics in the songs are also the singer's thoughts, helping them easily touch the hearts of listeners, especially young people.
The next outstanding Gen Z male singer is Wren Evans (born 2001). His new song "Used to be familiar", released on October 25, 2023, topped the charts on 4 platforms: Apple Music Vietnam, iTunes Vietnam, Zing MP3 and CapCut, along with more than 10 million listens on Spotify.
Most of the young male singers today are oriented towards professional development. Musician Huy Tuan commented: "This is a generation of versatile singers. Their musical language is close to global music and trends. There is not much difference or distance when they stand on international stages. They are completely proactive in the production stages. Therefore, it does not take much time for them to form their musical personalities."

"Femininity" - new music trend
The concept of "feminine creativity" has been used a lot in the fields of painting and literature but is still quite new in music. However, "femininity" in music has been tested and created a positive effect in the Vietnamese music market.
A typical example is MONO's recently released EP (multi-song CD) "Beautiful" which has attracted the attention of many audiences. MONO's "Beautiful" shows that "femininity" is a topic with a lot of room to be exploited and can completely become a new trend in music in the coming years.
"Ai" by tlinh is also an album that clearly shows "femininity" in music. Many audiences said that they recognized their own stories in the songs of "Ai".
Giana, a singer who is considered a promising singer in Vietnamese music, has just released her first MV called "Love bold melody". Giana appears in the MV as an active, individualistic girl who loves sports , especially roller skating. Giana has a voice with an attractive timbre, a musical mindset that suits the tastes of young people, the ability to compose rap lyrics and "shoot" rap like Gen Z.
Cheng (real name Nguyen Quang Anh) with the song "Co anh o day" in collaboration with singer Bao Anh also received attention. This song is not about love but about the feelings of soulmates. According to Bao Anh, with its youthful, gentle pop melody and meaningful lyrics, "Co anh o day" is like a "healing gift through music" for herself.
Director Viet Nu believes: "Femininity is necessary for creativity. Artistic creation that goes beyond rational calculations and analysis will easily touch the human soul."
According to musician Tien Luan, in a music market that is almost saturated with commercial songs that come and go quickly, unique compositions "will be the standard for survival".
