Despite being sought after, he suddenly left the music industry, became a math teacher and lived a rather private life.
The male singer used to teach before officially entering the professional singing career.
Because he had to take on two jobs at the same time, which were of opposite nature, he had many difficulties in accepting long-distance performances and ensuring his teaching job was complete.
When he saw that the lyrical music genre had died down, Mai Tuan decided to stop singing for a while to pursue his studies and complete his secondary school teacher qualification.
After that, the male singer devoted all his mind to teaching, making up for the time he spent running shows and forgetting his teaching duties.

The singer affirmed that he does not regret his choices. According to him, teaching is the job that his mother once wished for her son to pursue. Meanwhile, Mai Tuan's father is always proud because he is the only son who has fulfilled his father's wish to pursue his passion for singing.
“I stopped singing at the right time. Even though in the following years I was not invited to sing as much as before by show organizers, and the name Mai Tuan was not as hot as before, I was still happy,” he said.
Despite his long hiatus from singing, Mai Tuan admits that he cannot give up his passion for music . He still quietly records and films MVs to post on YouTube to satisfy his passion.

Recently, he returned to music through the song "Disparate Chopsticks" - a new composition by author Nguyen Hoang Vinh.
Through the product, the male singer wants to convey a message that couples in love, even if they cannot be together, should learn to accept, let go and love themselves more.
The idea of producing the MV came from Mai Tuan's sympathy when the male singer witnessed the unfinished love affairs of his relatives just because of society's strict prejudice of "equal social status".

The singer still maintains friendships with some of his contemporaries, especially his close friend Yen Khoa. Due to their busy lives, they rarely see each other, but they still keep in touch via social networks.
"Sometimes, I meet Yen Khoa, Phuong Thanh or Kim Tu Long at events, we are very happy and have a lot of stories to tell each other," he said.
