The Bundesliga giants have admitted defeat in their pursuit of Bayer Leverkusen's Florian Wirtz, with the German attacking midfielder keen on joining Liverpool.

Therefore, Bayern Munich has turned to another option, Eberechi Eze - the core of Crystal Palace's attacking style this season.

According to the Mirror, the Bavarians could trigger Eze's £60m release clause, plus a potential £8m in add-ons.

The relationship between Bayern Munich and Palace is quite strong, after both sides agreed a transfer deal for Michael Olise last summer.

In addition to Eze, the Allianz Arena team is also eyeing Kaoru Mitoma (Brighton) and Raphael Leao (AC Milan).

Crystal Palace are keen to keep hold of Eze, the hero of the FA Cup final win over Man City, with his only goal coming in the first half.

Since arriving at Selhurst Park, Eze has scored 39 goals in 165 appearances. In 2023, he was called up to the England squad for the first time by manager Southgate.

The 26-year-old's current contract with Palace runs until 2027. Therefore, to secure Eze's services, Bayern Munich need to pay the exact amount as stated in the contract termination clause.
