Quang Nam is ready for the 10th grade entrance exam

Quang Nam's 10th grade public entrance exam for the 2025-2026 school year will take place on June 3, 4 and 5. Over the past time, the entire sector has actively deployed preparations, ready for the exam to be successfully organized.

Prepare carefully

For the first time in more than 10 years, Quang Nam has returned to organizing the entrance exam for public grade 10. According to Mr. Thai Viet Tuong - Director of the Department of Education and Training, this exam will face many difficulties, especially taking place in the context of preparing to merge communes, wards, provinces, and ending district-level activities.

However, with the attention and direction of the Provincial People's Committee and the close and responsible coordination of departments, branches and district People's Committees, up to now, the preparation work for the exam has been carefully and closely implemented according to the set plan.

The Department of Education and Training has also proactively prepared quite early. In mid-April, the Department of Education and Training organized the 10th admission conference with the participation of all principals, admission officers of high schools, secondary schools and heads of local education and training departments.

Thereby, helping school leaders and teachers clearly understand the directives and instructions of all levels related to the exam; regulations on admission to grade 10, and exam organization.

Notably, to serve the exam, the industry has deployed an admission system for use in all stages, from online exam registration to arranging exam boards, exam rooms, registration numbering, marking, entering scores, and admission consideration...

In practice, organizing online exam registration for students has created favorable conditions for them to register and adjust their wishes.

The 10th grade entrance exam for public schools takes place on June 3, 4 and 5. Students applying to public high schools and provincial high schools for ethnic minorities will take the entrance exam in three subjects: Math, Literature, and English; students applying to Nguyen Binh Khiem and Le Thanh Tong specialized high schools will take the entrance exam in three subjects: Math, Literature, English and a specialized subject.

The first year of organizing the 10th grade entrance exam, many people are interested in the exam content, how to ensure the quality of the exam content, suitable for the candidates in the whole province (avoid the situation that some localities across the country have encountered such as difficult exam questions leading to too many students failing, not enough enrollment quota).

Therefore, the Department of Education and Training has organized a survey on the learning quality in 3 subjects: Literature, Math and English (also 3 subjects in the upcoming exam) of 9th grade students in the 2024-2025 school year in the whole province to grasp the actual learning quality.

On that basis, experts will analyze the results to find solutions to adjust the content and structure of the exam to ensure it is suitable for students in all regions. At the same time, the selection of personnel for the exam council and the review of exam questions are also of interest to the industry.

“This is the first time Quang Nam has organized an entrance exam for grade 10 instead of a selection process like in the past 12 years, so it will certainly face many difficulties and challenges. Therefore, the whole industry has focused on implementing thorough preparations in all aspects.

Up to now, the preparation work has been completed, ready for the exam to take place safely, seriously, and with quality, bringing a fair admission exam, accurately assessing the quality of students' learning. Thereby opening up opportunities to study in grade 10 for students with better academic performance, meeting the expectations of parents, students and the whole society" - Mr. Thai Viet Tuong said.

Ensuring exam security

According to the Department of Education and Training, in order to create favorable conditions for students to participate in the upcoming 10th grade entrance exam, the province will establish a total of 60 examination councils located in all districts, towns and cities in the province.

With the spirit of students taking the exam at the nearest high school in the same district, 49 high schools were selected as exam sites, including 4 specialized 10th grade exam sites in Hoi An (2) and Tam Ky (2).

However, due to the large number of students registering for the exam, it is necessary to use 11 additional secondary schools with adequate facilities in some localities to organize the exam sites, giving priority to students studying at the school to create the most favorable conditions for them to travel.

One of the important requirements to ensure the exam takes place safely and seriously is security and safety at all stages. The Department of Education and Training affirmed that the security issue from the stages of creating exam questions, printing, packaging, transporting, preserving exam questions, to organizing the exam, making the exam papers, and marking the exam papers, all are organized according to the strict security process of a national exam.

According to the department's plan, the exam papers will be transported from the printing location to all examination councils in the province via many different transportation routes, with the escort and supervision of the police force. The exam papers and exam papers on exam days will be kept in a separate room at the examination council, with 24/7 police protection according to regulations.

The scale of the upcoming 10th grade entrance exam is quite large with more than 18,000 students taking the exam at 60 testing locations spread across the area from mountainous areas to plains, requiring efforts and shared responsibility from all levels, sectors and localities.

According to the plan, there will be nearly 3,600 people participating in the exam, including leaders, secretaries of the examination board, supervisors, orderlies, service staff, medical staff, police forces, and inspectors of the education and training sector. In addition, more than 700 officials and teachers will be mobilized to do the exam marking work.
