Localities actively prepare for the High School Graduation Exam

Ahead of the High School Graduation Exam, localities are actively reviewing facilities and training exam participants... to ensure the exam takes place safely and seriously.

In just two weeks, the 2024 High School Graduation Exam will officially take place. Currently, preparations for the exam are being actively completed by provinces and cities across the country to ensure a safe and serious exam.

Ready human resources and facilities

This year, Ha Tinh has over 17,000 candidates registered to take the High School Graduation Exam. According to Deputy Director of the Departmentof Education and Training of Ha Tinh province Nguyen Quoc Anh, the province has arranged 35 testing sites, 740 testing rooms, 91 waiting rooms, and mobilized more than 2,600 people to work at the testing sites. The preparation of facilities at the testing sites has been carried out to ensure the requirements of the exam.

As a mountainous province, Lao Cai has a smaller number of candidates, nearly 8,400. Director of the Department of Education and Training of Lao Cai province, Duong Bich Nguyet, said that the locality has prepared 368 examination rooms at 26 examination sites. It is expected that about 1,800 officials and teachers will participate in organizing the exam.

To avoid errors in the registration process, Lao Cai has established 46 points to receive registration documents. Each point has established a Consulting Team to provide consultation, propaganda, and update the latest information about the exam, while also guiding and explaining information to students about registration, ensuring that candidates register correctly and fully according to regulations.

Similarly, in Yen Bai province, preparations for the exam are also being rushed to completion. According to Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Yen Bai province To Thi Anh, this year the whole province has more than 8,700 candidates registered to take the exam, arranged at 28 exam sites with more than 1,800 staff performing exam supervision.

The work of receiving exam registration documents, checking the subjects and conditions for taking the exam, and handling students' complaints were carried out in accordance with regulations. Educational institutions have completed the exam registration, received exam data and entered it into the exam management software for independent candidates, and organized teachers and students to check and verify 100% of the documents with the data on the software to ensure the rights of candidates.

The Department of Education and Training of Yen Bai province has also directed functional departments and educational institutions to inspect and review the current status of facilities, equipment, and funding for examinations such as examination rooms, offices of examination sites, examination storage rooms, examination papers, areas for storing candidates' belongings that are not allowed to be brought into the examination room, camera surveillance system; means for printing and copying examination papers, scanning multiple-choice examination papers... and requirements for equipment according to the requirements of the examination regulations and instructions for examinations in 2024.

Ensure safe and serious exams

Along with preparing human resources and facilities for the exam, ensuring the exam is safe and serious is something that localities pay special attention to.

Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Yen Bai province, To Thi Anh, said that all officials, teachers, and students participating in the exam have been fully trained, informed, and communicated about the exam regulations, emphasizing exam organization procedures; new points of the exam, enrollment work in 2024; information and warnings about high-tech cheating devices; sharing of experiences, requirements on security, and prevention of high-tech cheating.

Identifying the most important stages of the exam as printing, transporting and delivering exam papers; preserving, using exam papers and preserving exam papers at the exam site; and marking exam papers, the Yen Bai Provincial Examination Steering Committee has taken security measures to ensure absolute security and safety, in accordance with regulations and laws.

In Lao Cai, Vice Chairwoman of Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee Giang Thi Dung also emphasized that the organization of the exam is considered an important task by the province, especially ensuring absolute security, safety and confidentiality. Therefore, Lao Cai province has directed and mobilized all resources, coordinated between units, agencies and departments. All participants in the organization must be thoroughly informed, disseminated, researched and learned, and have a firm grasp of the exam regulations.

The province also promotes communication work in stages before, during and after the exam to raise awareness among managers, teachers, staff, students, parents and create consensus among the whole society.

Closely following the exam preparation of localities, the Ministry of Education and Training also organized 5 working delegations led by the Minister and Deputy Ministers to inspect a number of localities.

According to Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son, the exam must be absolutely safe in all stages. To ensure this requirement, exam preparation must be carried out carefully. All stages and contents must have backup plans. The Minister also reminded localities to be on guard against high-tech cheating as well as promptly respond to unusual weather conditions and incidents.

According to the plan of the Ministry of Education and Training, the 2024 High School Graduation Exam will take place on June 27 and 28 with the registration of more than 1 million candidates./.
