Securities industry "giants" continue to increase brokerage market share in the third quarter

Leading companies such as VPS, SSI, TCBS continue to increase their brokerage market share while smaller companies tend to "run out of steam".

Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange (HoSE) has just announced information on the brokerage transaction value of the 10 securities companies with the largest market share in the third quarter of 2025.  

Accordingly, the names in the top 10 this quarter have not changed compared to the previous quarter, including: VPS, SSI, TCBS, Vietcap, HSC, MBS, VNDirect, Mirae Asset, VCBS and KIS Vietnam.

However, some securities companies are making stronger breakthroughs in capturing market share.  

Industry leaders continue to maintain their positions in brokerage market share on the HoSE floor.

VPS continues to be the industry leader with a market share of 17.05%, a significant improvement from 15.37% in the second quarter. Meanwhile, SSI also expanded its market share from 10.85% in the previous quarter to 11.82%. Notably, this is SSI's highest market share in nearly 5 years.  

Although the increase was not too strong, TCBS's market share also improved to 7.75% in this third quarter.

In the lower group, MBS climbed one place in the list while VNDirect had to give way. This happened when MBS's market share increased from 5.39% to 5.61% within 3 months, while VNDirect's decreased from 6.36% to 5.42%.  

Meanwhile, the rest including Mirae Asset, VCBS and KIS all had market shares slightly lower than in the second quarter.  

In total, the market share of the above 10 securities companies reached 69.05% in the third quarter of 2025, up from 68.49% in the previous quarter.  

The third quarter was also the time when the VN-Index reached the 1,700-point mark, liquidity exploded with many trading sessions reaching 60,000 - 80,000 billion VND.   Thanks to that, the group of securities companies is also forecast to bring positive business results in this third quarter.

VCBS assessed that the securities industry is also forecast to record a big winning quarter, especially in the proprietary trading segment.

Small and medium-sized securities companies that maintain large stock portfolios such as VIX, SHS, CTS can record multiple-fold profit growth.

Meanwhile, the leading group focusing on margin lending recorded high growth thanks to increasing loan balance (50-70%).
