Hanoi prepares essential goods, ready to serve Tet 2026

The end of the year and the Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026 are peak shopping seasons, with people's purchasing power higher than other months of the year. Essential consumer goods such as rice, meat, seafood, eggs, vegetables, fruits, cakes, candies, and gasoline... are in high demand during the Tet holiday. Therefore, Hanoi City plans to focus on balancing the supply and demand of essential goods, while promoting programs to stimulate consumption, promotions, and trade promotion.

The Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade also requested production and business units to have reasonable production and business plans, ensuring the supply of essential goods to serve the people before, during and after Tet, avoiding a shortage of goods in circulation on the market. Goods must ensure quality, origin, food safety, prices must be publicly listed, and sold at the listed price.

Business units organize regular and continuous sales, diversify sales forms, and organize good promotional programs in the area to stimulate consumption and serve people's Tet shopping needs. Business locations in the area are decorated and arranged neatly, ensuring environmental hygiene, security and order, fire prevention and fighting safety.

Relevant departments, branches, units, People's Committees of communes, wards, and enterprises in the area organize well the work of serving Tet in many forms, promote events to stimulate consumption, promote trade, promote industry, OCOP programs, concentrated promotion programs... to meet the needs of people before, during and after Tet in the area.

Ensure good connection, transportation and circulation of goods between provinces, cities and Hanoi. Encourage and mobilize e-commerce platforms to effectively support the consumption of domestic products. Organize well the inspection of the fields of Industry and Trade, focusing on inspection to ensure electrical safety and food safety in the city.

The city also focuses on ensuring the supply of electricity, gasoline and services supporting production and business, coordinating with units to inspect and monitor the market, prevent smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods, ensure food safety, security and order and fire prevention and fighting. Programs to stabilize the market, reserve goods and respond to natural disasters are implemented synchronously, to protect the interests of people and businesses.

Hanoi emphasizes connecting production, distribution, consumption, enhancing the role of e-commerce, promoting the consumption of OCOP products and local agricultural products. At the same time, promoting communication so that people can grasp the points of sale, events, and promotional programs, ensuring a full, safe and stable Tet season.
