Young 'Photoshop' talents compete for tickets to the World Graphic Design Championship

253 young graphic design talents across the country are competing for tickets to the 2025 World Championship of Graphic Design (ACP).

The qualifying round of the Adobe Certified Professional World Championship (ACP 2025) opened on the morning of March 16 in Hanoi.

The competition round in Vietnam is organized by the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the IIG Vietnam Education Organization.

Graphic designers are welcome

Immediately after the opening ceremony, the national qualifying round took place simultaneously in Hanoi, Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City, gathering the best faces from more than 60 teams of middle schools, high schools, intermediate schools, colleges and universities.

According to the organizers, the number of contestants this year increased by 10% compared to last year. Notably, contestants at college and intermediate levels increased sharply, accounting for nearly 60% of the total contestants, in which many schools with graphic design training majors sent teams to the contest for the first time.

High school level also accounts for 23% of the number of candidates. This shows that many schools have early assessed the learning needs and career trends in the digital transformation era.

The organizers said that graphic design personnel are always welcome in technology companies. In the era of strong development of artificial intelligence AI, technology companies always need designers with ideas, creativity and mastery of technology. AI only designs graphics at a basic level and cannot replace human creativity.

Mr. Tran Huu, Director of the Center for Science, Technology and Young Talent Development (Central Youth Union), said that the Central Youth Union has deployed an Action Program to implement Resolution 57-NQ/TW throughout the Youth Union to accompany the country on the path of breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and digital transformation.

Graphic design remains a sought-after profession by technology companies despite the explosive growth of artificial intelligence (AI).

The deployment and expansion of digital technology playgrounds to realize the goals and tasks of improving the digital capacity of Vietnamese youth such as the ACP World Graphic Design Championship is a practical activity, bringing high practical efficiency.

"The contest helps raise awareness of the meaning and role of learning and fostering digital skills in each member, thereby creating positive changes in digital transformation activities of Youth Union organizations, aiming to achieve practical results in the national digital transformation process" - Mr. Huu said.

Many young Vietnamese graphic design talents won high prizes at world competitions.

Mr. Doan Hong Nam - Chairman of IIG Vietnam Education Organization, co-organizer at the national level - said that in 7 seasons of implementation in Vietnam, the competition has achieved proud successes with 2 bronze medals, 2 awards for the most votes in the world, and many contestants in the top 10 best achievements in the world.

"In particular, the competition has helped thousands of students realize the importance of equipping themselves with knowledge and skills in graphic design according to international standards, possessing an international ACP certificate with global value, thereby opening up solid career opportunities in the digital age.

Many schools from high school to intermediate, college and university have assessed the learning trends and career needs in the field of graphic design, from which they have developed orientations for developing the capacity of students in this subject" - Mr. Nam said.

After the qualifying round, the organizing committee will select the 15 best contestants to enter the national final round. The 3 best contestants in the final round will be selected to represent Vietnam to attend the world final round in Orlando, Florida, USA, from July 27 to July 30, 2025.
