According to the bulletin of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, at 7:00 a.m. on July 14, 2023, a tropical depression near the East Sea was active in the East of Luzon Island (Philippines) with coordinates 17.6 degrees North latitude, 122.5 degrees East longitude; wind force level 6, gust level 8. It is forecasted that in the next 24 hours, the tropical depression will enter the East Sea and is likely to strengthen.
To proactively respond to the developments of the tropical depression, the Standing Office of the National Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control, the Office of the National Committee for Natural Disaster Response and Search and Rescue request the Steering Committees for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control and Search and Rescue of provinces, cities, and ministries to regularly and closely monitor the developments of tropical depression; strictly manage means of transport going out to sea; organize counting and notify owners of means of transport, captains of ships and boats operating at sea of the location, direction of movement and developments of the tropical depression to proactively avoid, escape or not move into dangerous areas. Dangerous areas in the next 24 hours: from latitude 17.5 to 21.5 degrees North latitude, east of longitude 118.0; in the next 48 hours: north of latitude 18.0, east of longitude 114.0 (dangerous areas are adjusted in forecast bulletins).
The Steering Committees for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue of provinces, cities and ministries are ready with forces and means for rescue when requested; reviewing activities at sea and aquaculture to have a plan ready to respond to the impact of natural disasters.
Vietnam Television, Voice of Vietnam, Vietnam News Agency, the coastal information station system and mass media agencies from central to local levels should strengthen measures to inform authorities at all levels, owners of means of transport operating at sea and people about the developments of natural disasters so that they can proactively prevent and respond.
In addition, the Steering Committees for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue of provinces, cities and ministries organize serious duty and regularly report to the Standing Office of the National Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control and the Office of the National Committee for Incident Response, Natural Disasters and Search and Rescue.
