From July 1, 2025, the whole country will switch to a two-level local government model (only provinces, cities and communes remain, eliminating district and county levels). Therefore, from June 30, users' personal information on the VNeID application has been updated, changing information about hometown as well as permanent address.
To check information about the newly updated residential address and hometown on the VNeID application, readers can follow these steps:
- Activate the VNeID application and access your account (Usually the VNeID application will require updating to a new version).
- After logging into your account, select “Paper Wallet” in the menu below, then select “View details” in the interface that appears (circled in red as shown in the photo).
Enter the data protection PIN (passcode) on the VNeID application to continue.
On the interface that appears, you will clearly see that the information including "Place of birth registration", "Hometown", "Place of permanent residence", "Current residence" have all been updated with new information.
Based on the newly updated information on the VNeID application, users can use it to declare and carry out administrative procedures in the future.
Note: Due to the fact that the data on VNeID is being updated and the large number of users accessing the application to view newly updated information, the application is overloaded, leading to slow and difficult access. Users can try again if the application's response speed is slower than usual.
